Can we do pit stops to reduce fuel loads ????

Either that or to make things more even I know of a way bridge, so that we could find out how ballast each scoob needs so that we can all be on the same playing field, or single track toll roads as the case is !!!!

I'm back in the UK now so I won't be around for your trip unless I stay on after the 24hr race or fly out for the weekend (my Impreza is staying at the Nurburgring for weekend fun).

Managed to sneak in 40 laps last weekend

Thought I would make the most of my season ticket... I managed 30 laps on Sunday. Probably one of the best days I've had on track, never saw more than 3 cars on a lap and I had the circuit to myself for the last 2 hours. I had Bren sit in with me to tidy up my wet lines and made a big difference.

In the morning I was overtaken by a diesel Mercedes A-Class in the pouring rain on the outside of MHM at about 70mph  However I spoke to Dale (track instructor) later and he was over taken too. Turns out it was a professional driver tyre testing for Vredestein.

Also on track yesterday was what I assume was the new Vauxhall Insigna VXR as it totally de-badged, taped up but with big alloys, Brembo's and was shifting! No pics though as I was too busy trying to keep up with it.

A few of me:

Long story

Depends on the availability of flights. I still have a house there, my Impreza is stored there and I have a season ticket for the track so a weekend only costs me a flight, petrol and beer ;)

I have 2 trips booked in the next 7 weeks

Not that I've just checked flight availability but I can fly out Friday night and fly home Sunday night for £50

Track is open Saturday 13:30 - 19:30 and Sunday 8:00 - 19:30 8-)

They're non tranferable, I don't fancy losing a €1075 season ticket and a €200 fine if caught ;)

How are your brake pads and discs now after your 70 laps.

I should imagine your must be doing at least a gallon each lap.

How much is the fuel there??

Discs are fine, they've done maybe 200 laps plus couple of trackdays at Spa. Pads are getting low now, I've got a set of PF 01 pads out in Germany waiting to go on. The Nordschleife is not a hard track on brakes if you know where you're going.

In the wet I was shifting up at 4/5k rpm and just practicing my wet lines so got up to 10 laps to tank (130 miles). In the dry and if I'm making good progress I get 5 laps to a tank.

98 is €1.22, 100 is €1.33 per litre.

My mates and I found walkie talkies invalubale both for keeping a large convoy together (toilet, fuel stops and negociating the Brussels ring road) and amusing ourselves on the journey

One of my mates might be out there (in his Impreza) the weekend you lot are there so I might get a lift over with him to save me paying for a flight

Not sure if you're aware but the police have had a major crackdown this week. 50 police car/bikes in the area stopping everyone they can and setting up speed checks. I know someone who was fined €990 this week for speeding

This was probably for the Bank Holiday weekend but keep an eye on your speed (there are a few places they like hide) and ensure you have all the correct documents.

Driving licence, card and paper counterpart
Insurance certificate
V5 log book
MOT certificate

Re: SES @ Nurbergring May 29th - June 1st

I used to be stopped by the local police fairly regularly but they soon learnt me and my car. I found them friendly and professional to deal with however the same can't be said for the ones draughted in for this crackdown. From what I understand they were preying on people who didn't speak German and unaware of the law. They were bullying people into paying on the spot and admitting guilt.

A lawyer who specialises in motoring law offered the following advice after speaking to a German colleauge:

The police have powers to search you and your car for money to pay the fine but do not have the powers to take you to a cash machine like in France/Belgium.

DO NOT admit anything or sign anything you don't understand.
