Don't drive it around on boost now without getting it mapped!

NL03Scooby 02-04-2016 05:18 PM

I only used a single can of the VHT on my inlet manifold and the intercooler pipework - I used a hot air gun to get the wrinkle finish (pipes were too big for the oven).

Question is how much front end re-designing does it need, not as simple as just bolting on and away you go...

Looks like you need a couple of tins of white and black smoothrite while you've got access to it. I'd at least do that bumper bar.

scotty 10-04-2016 09:44 PM

I will do that the next i take the bumper off for spraying but we are done its fitted

Yes i know its annoying might tempt it or just take it to the body shop when funds allow .

scotty 20-04-2016 08:40 PM

Well 7 days to go and see what this joke of a car produces and found a nice bodyshop called FOZSPORTS so bumper and wheels will get done and one of boys that works there owns a v2 555 sti .

I get all mine from Frosts - They do the VHT wrinkle as well as a proper radiator paint (Eastwood) that doesn't affect the thermal properties on the intercooler/radiator as much as a normal paint.

Just to note though the Red wrinkle no longer matches the STI OE red, the colour was changed a few years ago.

scotty 21-04-2016 11:23 AM

Need to redo the 2 pipes due to trying to make them fit better lol .

scotty 03-05-2016 01:05 PM

Is it not generated by boost being forced back towards the turbo when you shut the throttle off and have no dump/recirc valve to remove said air?
