Skullfudge 18-07-2011 06:46 PM

To give you an idea mate I took my Mrs with me so bare that in mind (food / drinks)

My hotel bill was £ 360.00 (3 nights / 6 breakfasts & 4 evening meals) (top food)

Evening meal at Saliva Spitz (what ever you call her) parents Restaurant

Four laps of the Ring (22 Euros a lap)

Fuel £ 4,620 (your mpg will be much better than mine)

and about £ 200 on bits & pieces (meals on route / Coffee's / KY Gel / 2 pairs of new knickers for wife after laps / ear plugs (wife screaming) etc

Not as expensive as I had thought.

its not a difficult journey even if you were on your own as long as you have a good satnav.

we mostly convoy down together:-P

ScoobySi 23-07-2011 06:16 PM

When I went this year I didnt have a sat nav. I stayed in the middle of the main convey most of the time. Walkie talkies helped alot too.

Next trip I'll have a euro sat nav, but will stay with the convey as they are a bit of a laugh on the way there and back :)

And can we join the convoy?

ScoobySi 23-07-2011 07:46 PM

The last trip I met up with a few of the guys at clacketts lane services before meeting the rest nearer dover. Worked out pretty well time wise too. I'll be up for doing the same next year if your all interested?

Nice picture :-D

It surprising how steep even the 'mini carousel' is?

Krissyb 24-07-2011 04:19 PM

I couldn't beleive how crazy the track actually was mate.

pigSTi 24-07-2011 04:29 PM

I've never tracked before so am expecting a pretty epic experience... should I be worried lol

ScoobySi 24-07-2011 04:35 PM

Just dont drive like a loon on your first few laps and you'll be fine, or follow someone who knows where they are going is good.

pigSTi 24-07-2011 04:51 PM

I have no intention of doing that - I'll have unprotected ******** and the missis will be sat next to me. Seriously though, I wouldn't anyways, I like my car in the condition it's in and I definitly do not want to hit any of those expensive barriers!

Just try and get out on the track when its quiet for your first run and drive to your pace and speed and not the car in front. oh and keep looking in that rear view mirror for locals who rapidly sneak up from behind.

pigSTi 24-07-2011 06:37 PM

Sounds like good advice, thanks :)
