Thanks Terry. I don't think any new car will ever sound like that. That's one of the things I miss is the sound.

It's goes silent......silent......silent.....mild rasping.....crackle pop bang........silent.

They do Scott, yes, but its bonkers money, something like £2000??

You are right, it isn't the greatest of sounds, but saying that its a damn site better than the type R and Golf R!..

No doubt I will change it at some point but I think you are severely limited with a 4 cylinder that's not flat!!.

LOL.....I've de-resonated the K1 with a milltek centre (the OE bacbox is Remus anyway) and I now get what sounds like a flappy paddles up shift fart if I 'invoke' the traction control. It sounds good but I expect my tyres are paying for it !!!!!!!
Pre-cat is going to be paid a visit with a drill fitted with a brick hole cutter shortly;)

scooby doo 20-01-2017 11:50 PM

Lovley cars be good to see what you think after owning it for a while,
Am I right thinking the engines where based on the mazda mps blocks?
I need to decat my pre cat soon to get some more pops lol

Banstead Stig 21-01-2017 05:57 AM

In so much as its a 2.3 L series block, yes I think so from what I've read.

Not sure how similar they really are though.

scooby doo 21-01-2017 08:21 AM

Interesting to see how much ford changed it.
i do like these Rs's alot, and been interesting to see you chose the Rs over the honda , but good choice lol.

Lucky 21-01-2017 10:01 AM

It was a tough call between the RS and Honda and all that swung it in the end was lobbing out £30k on a car that will be replaced in February with a new model (honda). To drive I would actually say the Honda was more entertaining and although 45BHP down on the RS, it didnt fell like it at all. The Honda is probably the closest replacement to the scoob in terms of drive and character.

The whole scoob thing is impossible to get out of your system. Seeing Matt's 06STI for sale this week almost tempted me away from the RS and save £20k at the same time, but i really need something newer as a daily driver.

scooby doo 21-01-2017 10:28 AM

deffo agree on not wanting to buy the car when a replacement is on its way.

Yup, saw that.

Matt23 27-02-2017 02:05 PM

Scott.T 26-04-2017 07:51 PM

It'll be just like owning the hawk again!.

Its due with the dealer next week and the aim is to pick it up Saturday 6th:drive:

There's still no word on the arrival of the Mountune FPM375 kit, but if necessary it'll go back in for that when the kit arrives.

Its been a long wait and hopefully it'll be worth it. Cant wait. I will get to some meets when it arrives, be good to catch up :ok:

Should be picking it up on 6th Matt.

Hows yours going?. I saw a nice blue one this week on the coast road in Peacehaven, looked awesome. There are none around here at the moment so it was nice to see one on the road.:-D

I'm pleased to hear you've been given a delivery date mate, not long to go now :ok:
Once you get yours, I'll try and bring the car to a meet over the summer so we can get some nice pictures of them both :-D
The RS is going well thanks Steve :-D just got over the 1K mark last weekend and have started to push the car a bit more now, feels great being able to use all the rev range at last.

Fingers crossed it isn't.
I'm glad I didn't order that early build as I doubt I would of hit the magic mileage where it occurs within the warranty period.

Later builds have hopefully sorted the issue.

Anger 27-04-2017 09:36 PM

Gearbox fault

Apparently so.

Lucky 09-05-2017 01:35 PM

So, the 6th May came and went and still no sign of it

I'm told its 'imminent', whatever that means!.

Banstead Stig 09-05-2017 01:37 PM

How frustrating?!

Lucky 09-05-2017 04:32 PM

Just a bit. Particularly as it seems someone near me has taken delivery of a blue one in the last few days and insists on driving passed my office :angst:

Matt23 09-05-2017 06:31 PM

Oh that's so frustrating and annoying for you mate

Would have been quicker to order one in Scotland

Rdlangy1 10-05-2017 09:58 AM

Have u put pressure on Ford? Any chance squeezing some goodies out of them for delayed delivery?

Frenchie 13-05-2017 06:52 AM

Was your choice of a blue car influenced by the fact you had owned a black car in the Past? How you kept your hawk so clean I have no idea. I love my black STI, but if I clean it by the time I've driven down my driveway it's already Dirty!

Hi Terry,

I hope all is well with you guys.

I didn't go for blue, I've gone for Magnetic Grey. As you know I love black cars and had I gone for a Civic or golf, they would have been black, but the focus somehow doesn't look right to me in black. Grey should be easier to keep as well!!. I think garaging the black hawk helped keep it looking good.

Scott.T 13-05-2017 01:31 PM

Thinking of you Steve
