Sounds like a good idea. What time are you hoping to arrive? And who/what am I looking out for? I'll be in my 2008 Impreza GB270

The Handbrake 28-07-2017 08:33 AM

Looking at the map it will take anything from 42mins to an hour from Chichester meet point to Beaulieu. Dave says he will work out a meet point for you

Scott.T 28-07-2017 09:17 AM

Could meet in the car park 100yds past Meriden Ferrari just over the cattle grid.i

I will be handing out screen tickets/badges which you will need in order to get in/directed on arrival at the event. So you 'need' to meet at the above.

(shamelessly copy pasted)

Nice one mate, looking forward to it :ok:

MIDLIFE 29-07-2017 07:35 AM

Does anyone know if the event will still take place as the forecast for Beaulieu shows 12hours + of rain today and I believe the cars will be parked on the grass.:-|

Can't see why it wouldn't plus forecast for tomorrow is fine till 4pm

Steve_PPP 29-07-2017 09:12 AM

Its a big event, I can't ever see them cancelling it because of rain the day before. It'll drain away pretty quickly, I reckon at worse they will just rope a few lower parts which might be boggy to stop cars parking on them.

As CJ says, forecast for tomorrow looks good until late afternoon, it should dry out quickly enough. Last year we were complaining about dust on the gravel access roads! :)

Scott.T 29-07-2017 09:32 AM

Most of the event is on the internal well managed grass area. So should not be a problem.
We are normally in the adjacent field which is pretty level. I don't see it being much of an issue.

Southern Subaru, nearly all their cars had orange Southern Subaru show plates too.

ScoobyStu 30-07-2017 04:53 PM

Had a good day, thanks to all that organised. Apologies to those I didn't really get a chance to speak to. Hope you all had a good day and safe trips home :-)

I'm going to try and sign up and see what they're about.

TJSplattwell 30-07-2017 07:42 PM

Thanks to those that organised today, had a great day! Sorry I didn't really get to talk to anyone, but that's what you get for bringing the other half who isn't really a Scooby fan I guess :) looking forward to the next event

Just gone to their website, looks like a new club... Unbranded phpbb at the moment. Guess they'll cover the more central Southern region (Hampshire, Wiltshire, Dorset, Somerset?)

Getting a bit confusing now, I'm assuming Southern Subaru (the orange ones ;)) aren't the same as the Southern Scoobies group on facebook as there's no orange theme to them??

Simon-Sti 31-07-2017 07:09 AM

Thanks for a nice day out and for organising it.
See you on the next one :)

Simon

I've got a feeling they are the same, can't quite remember what was on their board at the front of their stand now. I know they were formed in 2011 and do have a Facebook page, odd to have different names for them mind.
