Oh I recognise those wheels! ;)

Rdlangy1 10-06-2015 03:44 PM

Ha ha :ok:

They will be my daily wheels and the 17's will have track rubber fitted and used as track wheels (cheaper when replacing tyres!)

Ryan :ok:

Ginola 10-06-2015 04:45 PM

Very true! ;) I'm using the turini's as track wheels as they are not in as good nick as the larger 8.5" rims

Rdlangy1 10-06-2015 04:53 PM

Wow 8.5 - my wallet couldn't stretch to 8.5 18's - still in hoping the 18x8 will be a noted improvement on the stock 17's :-)

Hoping the eibach kit will make a nice difference as well - although fixed damper, and onto original top mounts - the write up and alyns advice seems sound enough for what I need :ok:

Ginola 10-06-2015 05:41 PM

Quality items those coil overs are from what I've read

Rdlangy1 10-06-2015 05:45 PM

U think so?

I am so clueless I started reading all the write ups and tbh besides the name and build quality couldn't see what I was paying £200 more for over BC's and Tein's...

Tein's have dampening adjustment and top mounts, BC's could have been the inverted type with top mounts for same money but tbh Alyn has never given me duff info and so I trust him impeccably...

Reassuring to know someone else thinks they are an ok buy so thanks Dave :ok:

Rdlangy1 23-06-2015 06:08 PM

Thanks mate - and oh no!!! Not good!!

kartingsteve 24-06-2015 12:10 AM

Looking very nice :ok:and looking forward to see it on Thursday. Plus as for coilovers I had BC's on mine but in the end I had to change them for KW's 3 as I thought the BC's were crap :shock:so I think you have made the right choice on Eibach pro-street S coilers :ok:

Though you can also buy direct from speedline still need to get another 2 (will be my 6th one bought they can go brittle and snap when removed a lot)

Red Baron 24-06-2015 07:27 PM

I've given up buying the speedline one's from Subaru for my ST2S, they kept falling apart as the tabs fell off and they fell out every time I washed the wheels.

I thought that Dave but soeedline reckon their old centre caps don't fit my wheels as they changed them??? Sounds like cods wallop to me as surely the centre hole has to be same????

But I'll see what they come up with :ok:

Ginola 24-06-2015 07:30 PM

We can do a compare if you like .. Here is a centre.. And a cap...http://images.tapatalk-cdn.com/15/06...2c728243f8.jpg

Rdlangy1 24-06-2015 07:53 PM

I have those to (black backed caps)- but they too small and don't fit - the ones that fit have only 4 prongs and a metal wire to push the prongs out to clip it in - and its 3mm bigger in diameter...

scotty 24-06-2015 10:35 PM

Ryan have you measured the size of cap you require as you might be able to find some on fleabay .

Rdlangy1 26-06-2015 12:42 PM

Well i decided to step away from the performance for a bit and give the Wallet a rest.....

So bought these instead !!!

Thanks Dave - will do :ok:

Rdlangy1 29-06-2015 09:39 PM

Ok well pretty disastrous! After finally getting my stereo 2 days late - fitted it ton and nothing!!!! Zip!!! No power to unit at all!!

Al did was connected new wiring harness and plugged in (like I have with every other stereo I've fitted) and naff all!

To top it all - got the speaker adapters for front and none of the holes match up (but they def right part number) so that's failed too..

So I have no door cards / no stereo and a back seat full of parts...

Epic fail!

Steve_PPP 30-06-2015 08:27 AM

Its a right sod when things don't work isn't it

Assume the head unit will come with a manual that lists the pin-outs on the connector? If so, get a multimeter on the end of the harness and check you're seeing permanent 12v and switched 12v (ignition) on the correct wires.... If that's all fine then duff stereo?

"Right Sod" is probably tame compared to the words being cussed about last night pmsl !

Although I have learnt a valuable lesson..........................RYAN LEAVE THE CAR ALONE AND PAY SOMEONE ELSE TO DO IT !!!!! :ok:

Will try and sweet talk the one sparky I know tonight and see if he will take a look - me and a multimeter is like a young lad fumbling around a lady for the first time! ha ha ha ha - poke here and there and have no idea what im looking at !!!! pmsl !!!!:mrgreen::mrgreen:

Rdlangy1 05-07-2015 06:55 PM

Indeed shiny - perhaps I should just frame new car bits I get so that they remain shiny rather fit them! ha ha

hopefully mate they will make a big difference - gotta say just something as silly as having a decent head unit with all the features I wanted makes driving the car a much better experience... And surely gives me another 10bhp right ????? :-?:-?

555_Si 16-07-2015 08:43 AM

I never put the stereo on in the golf or the old scoob, nice soundtrack already.
