This looked like so much fun but how do you get around the fact most insurance companies do not cover you for track days? My own insurance does not cover me for track days, I would love to have a go but would be too worried about crashing then being left with no car as the insurance company would not pay out, also how do you know what speeds or racing line you should follow on the various parts of the track any advice??

Track day insurance is a separate daily cover. Keith Michaels will do it for a daily premium if you are insured with them.

There are others too like http://www.insuremytrackday.com http://www.competition-car-insurance.co.uk/ etc etc

Go out with someone first to show you the lines and then master them yourself, or get an instructor to go with you.

Do you mean as a passenger in someones car? I would then properly go out with an instructor in the car with me until I felt confident to go on my own

Added comments in other thread, get someone to take you out , then book a track day and book an instructor for a few laps, he will get rid of your bad habits and give you a good grounding knowledge.

There were only 20 of my car, which worked out at £60.... so i added 10 of Anger's so i had the 30 needed for £1 per pic.... bargain!

Angus... pm me your e-mail address (when you've finished your dirty weekend away) and i'll send them over if you haven't got them already.

Its one of those things you just have to decide on. I took out track cover for this trackday via Keith Michaels (cost £60) but I think its also got a £1500 excess, so you have to think its worth it depending on how much money you have tied up in the car :)

Just drive round gently and build your speed up slowly as you feel more confident and familiar with the circuit, keep a watch in your mirrors for fast moving folk etc,

Its not a race so all at your own pace.. :)

It's possibly photoshop'd ye, however they came like that from MSV. I would be a little surprised if they bothered to go to those lengths on these in light of how many photos they are taking in a day.. but.. they did take 5 days to pop them online..

I have touched these 4 but only with un-sharp mask, ballance, curve tools, the 20 second make over etc as per the norm.

Sam, are you eating food in that second snap of yours??
