Mortster 18-03-2014 07:40 PM

Nice one, turned out ok then. :ok:

Scruff 18-03-2014 07:47 PM

Yes it has Nick, thank you for the splitter. I think it's completely changed the look of the car., certainly improved its looks anyway :)

Ginola 18-03-2014 09:52 PM

looks spot on :)

Matt23 18-03-2014 10:19 PM

scotty 18-03-2014 11:42 PM

SamSTI 19-03-2014 07:15 AM

Looking good :)

Scruff 23-03-2014 08:40 PM

Thanks all. Got myself some fog light covers and thought it might be nice to inject a bit of colour sooooo came up with this:

I know, state of my microwave, tea coffee and sugar pots, work top etc ;)

Scruff 24-03-2014 02:51 PM

Haven't quite worked out how to attach the covers to the car yet :|

Decided I needed a boost gauge and found a pro sport evo on ebay for £25!! Not bad considering it should have been £65 new. Thought it should go somewhere a bit different so armed with a hacksaw blade and some side cutters:

http://i275.photobucket.com/albums/j...ps00vztzap.jpg

Didn't quite fit :|

http://i275.photobucket.com/albums/j...pscjpxfoey.jpg

Decided to offset it a bit to angle it round toward my eye view then cut out the ratchety bit:

http://i275.photobucket.com/albums/j...pstez1uweo.jpg

Cut a hole at the back and drilled a hole further back in the ducting to feed the wire down:

http://i275.photobucket.com/albums/j...psoqmtktwz.jpg

It's in :D

http://i275.photobucket.com/albums/j...psllqr3ftj.jpg

Not wired up yet though.

Hongkongfooi 28-03-2014 07:24 PM

I assume the gauge is 52mm one? 60mm would have fitted right in?

Scruff 28-03-2014 07:35 PM

Yeah 52. When you say a 60 would fit right in, you mean replace the vent alltogether? They're a pain in the **** to get out.

Scruff 30-03-2014 08:44 PM

Just picked up these! :D

They're on! Very pleased :)

So i've been looking for a set of rear spats for the wagon and found these on ebay.

http://i24.ebayimg.com/02/i/001/13/6b/b27f_12.JPG

http://i10.ebayimg.com/06/i/001/0e/93/2cf7_12.JPG

Not really knowing how different the saloon bumper is to the wagon, i thought i'd take the plunge. Turns out they're very different by about 6ins or so i think. So am now a bit unsure whether to have a go at mdifying them to fit and maybe come up with something a bit different or sell them and get the ones for double the price which are specifically for the wagon.

riiidaa 22-04-2014 10:22 PM

hmm, i'd read that the rear bumper was exactly the same, i was sceptical

Scruff 22-04-2014 10:56 PM

Well thats what i thought too. I'm sure that i'd seen some spats that were advertised to fit both saloon and wagon but unless i'm sizing these up the wrong way (unlikely), they are definately not for mine. Gonna get the car in the work shop in a bit and see what i can come up with.

Scruff 07-05-2014 01:37 PM

Thought I'd have another go at my grill:

Much better I think :)

Scruff 07-05-2014 01:43 PM

Also got my nice new rear corners that I've been searching for:

SamSTI 07-05-2014 05:00 PM

Very nice indeed :)

Scruff 15-06-2014 12:00 AM

Been a little while since I did anything to the wagon so treated myself with some new bits. A boot full of happy!!! New drop links, pro flex arb bushes, Godspeed discs and Kevlar pads and a ball joint. Hoses are still to be fitted.

http://i275.photobucket.com/albums/j...psauqdeq0i.jpg

New drop links from Flo Flex, actually very impressed given the price:

;) is that a full set of orange water hoses we can see as well?

Scruff 15-06-2014 01:15 AM

Certainly is. I like orange :) eventually I want the wheels to match!

riiidaa 15-06-2014 09:16 AM

You'd have to change the grille to match then

Scruff 15-06-2014 11:32 AM

You reckon? That'll be a pig to respray with the metal stuck on there. Might have a go with photoshop to see what it'll look like.

Nice of Godspeed to point this out for me... No, seriously

http://i275.photobucket.com/albums/j...psutj8jd49.jpg

riiidaa 15-06-2014 12:11 PM

plastidip the wheels - orange is a brave colour, if you love them three months on go the whole hog, if you don't peel it off.

Nice cat too, they find the strangest places to sit don't they :)

Scruff 15-06-2014 01:23 PM

Will plasti dip seal the wheel as well? Only reason I ask is cos the laquer is peeling all over the place so will need to be rubbed down to get a smooth finish which will no doubt lead to bare metal in places. Could it corrode under the dip?

Thanks for that Steve, I'll get it booked in sharpish!! Don't suppose you've used the one at Turners Hill before? I'd like to get it in somewhere that'll do it properly.

Aaaaand it's broken :(

Scruff 07-07-2014 04:30 PM

Can anyone tell me what the two orange hoses top right and top left are for. The one on the right which I removed first let out a hiss when I took it off.

Not sure, i'm no mechanic, but I had a look on mine and its definitely brake related, it feeds the brake servo from the intake manifold?

And i couldn't see the hose that goes nowhere on mine, but there's no room there to see it as i've got the STI intercooler which is a bit wider.

Sure someone will know though! :)

Mortster 08-07-2014 07:28 AM

Nick, the orange pipe that goes down to the inlet pipe, just to the left of where the throttle cable fixes to the manifold, pop that off again and check the boost pipes under/below it. They almost double back on them selves and plug into a sensor....and pop off really easily. You could have moved it the you fitted the pipe.

Scruff 08-07-2014 08:12 AM

Thanks Steve, Nick. I'll have a look now to see. Fingers crossed.

Steve, the pipe on the right as a non return valve in it. Or rather, should have. I've put the old pipe back in and it works normally again. Just the boost issue to fix now.

Scruff 09-07-2014 12:16 PM

Thanks to CJ for having a look and then arranging this little visit for me. Charlie says it's not broken! No problems with a boost leak, just a new noise. It's boosting well, fuel is a little lean but the engine is good and strong.
