Very exciting last few laps :more:

Banstead Stig 08-06-2014 08:52 PM

Yeah, that was a cracker.

Felt bad for Lewis Hamilton, but was very pleased for Ricciardo. Fitting tribute to Jack Brabham!

Impressive effort from Rosberg too with a seemingly compromised car.

Also, big wallops always get the pulse racing!!

Great race. Chuffed for Ricardo. Always good to have a new winner

Good on jenson too :yeah:

Well done to Ricardo, Vettel didn't seem too happy about it :D

Feel really gutted for Hamilton 2x DNF's vs none for Nico....

The Crash had me out of my seat :o I was really worried for both drivers.

Steve_PPP 09-06-2014 10:38 AM

Was certainly a big stop for both drivers. Looked to me like Perez moved to the left just as Massa was trying to come down the side of him..... difficult one to call.

Going to be tough for Hamilton if Rosberg's reliability keeps him on the podium at every race. The power problem they had yesterday was very strange to happen at exactly the same time on both cars too. Surely if it was a stress/wear/heat issue it would happen at different times because the cars were being driven differently (e.g. Nico used a fair bit more fuel to cover the same distance as Lewis). Lewis's car would have been hotter following the other Merc etc.... Software bug?

Bytes 09-06-2014 12:09 PM

Hamilton's only 22 points behind, so a streak of 3 wins will put him right next to Rosberg if Mercedes keep up the 1-2 results. A single win for Hamilton and a DNF for Rosberg will put Hamilton ahead...

... good to hear both Massa and Perez are OK. Perez has been given a penalty for causing the crash according to reports.

Hamilton right back in it now after a very entertaining race this weekend :) Shaping up to be a mighty battle between the two Mercs ....

Steve_PPP 07-07-2014 02:35 PM

Yep, cracking race too, the Alonso/Vettel scrap was great to watch (even though they're both whingers  )

Nice to see Rosberg have a retirement too! Just glad I recorded it so I could skip through the hour of barrier repairs....

Great race we was sitting at stowe(with my lucky lewis hamilton cap on) where hamilton tried to do donuts at the end lol, cars deffo did not sound as good especially as prost drove last years red bull round before start of race and the gp2 cars sounded better but then they are v8 naturally aspirated so should sound better, and great result for button as well just a shame he couldnt get on the podium maybe another lap or two and he would of had riccardo

oldskool 07-07-2014 09:48 PM

I love F1 and this years regs has certainly turned it upside down - I never used to be a vettel fan then saw quite a few interviews with him and kinda warmed to him as well as his skills but it was all a bit samey with red bull so dominant before

and this year just got even better with Lewis getting a bit of luck re rosbergs reliability so its a cracking season all in all

Yes has been a good season and mercedes certainly got it right in the 1st year and bet lewis was glad he made the jump when everyone thought he was mad,but sure other teams will catch up with new cars next year, and hopefully jenson with a honda engine(if he still there)will be up challenging again.

Must be a bit of a shock for vettel this year but as always said its not about just having the best car,its gotta be a combination of driver and car to get the best out of it.

Hongkongfooi 20-07-2014 01:28 PM

German Gp is proving just a little exciting :more:

So close at the end! Some great overtaking today :)

Agreed great overtaking and some great driving between alonso/riccardo near the end as well

Bytes 27-07-2014 03:38 PM

Cracking race and great drive from LH to get third from a pit lane start :) Ricciardo still out-performing Vettel with a fantastic win today ;)

Awesome race and great result

Ginola 27-07-2014 07:30 PM

Cracking race, not quite sure wtf was with Mercedes team orders.. Thought that was out of order., cracking wheel to wheel stuff. A few heart in mouth moments!

Another great race to watch, shame Hamilton couldn't get Alonso at the end but considering he got a podium from the pit lane and punting the barrier on lap one, he should be well chuffed.

At least Rosberg didn't take the opportunity to pull out a bigger lead in the championship, all that whinging of "why isn't he letting me through" was out of order, Lewis was quite right to hold him up.

Banstead Stig 27-07-2014 10:48 PM

Funny how they were free to race when Rosberg wasn't leading the championship.

Yep, just watched that and read a few of the comments at the end of the article. Let's hope Merc play fair for the rest of the season :ok:

Granby 28-07-2014 12:55 AM

Was a good race for Lewis and everything (well almost everything) fell into place for him today, but if there hadn't been the safety cars then I feel he would of been way behind Rosberg

Lucky 28-07-2014 09:00 AM

A great race again and completely agree with what Lewis did. As he said, at the end of the day they are racing. These torquey engines certainly seem to be catching them out in the wet too.

XRS 28-07-2014 09:20 AM

I was just wondering what would have happened if they had put Lewis on two sets of super softs rather than one of softs. Clearly Rosberg was able to catch up having had the extra stop, and Lewis would have been electric on those tyres with a bit of life left in them.

Or if they'd pitted them both when nico had his last stop, they'd both have been flying , would have been interesting racing and maybe they could have caught ricciardo, assuming they didn't hold each other up too much.

Looking forward to this weekend. My mate is going ... git...

Bytes 07-09-2014 11:09 PM

Interesting couple of races for Mercedes ;) Missed both live, but caught the highlights and the press coverage of the Hamilton/Rosberg coming together at Spa. Good to see a clean race today and Hamilton taking the win :)

EXEVO3 08-09-2014 11:12 AM

What a great result at monza.....the talk that nico is strong minded I think was proven wrong...lewis just needs some luck his way to even the points... lewis is the fastest racer and nico knows it

Agreed soon as Nico saw the Lewis was gaining on him and was getting quicker he choked and made a rookie mistake.

Not to mention that move Lewis pulled on Massa was incredible.

Hongkongfooi 10-09-2014 06:46 PM

just saw the re run as didn't see it live, looks a great race.

Bytes 22-09-2014 11:42 AM

Not the most exciting of races, but some good quick laps from LH after the safety car gave him the win. Mercedes need to sort out their reliability ... :-o:brickwall:

Completely agree and whats more worrying is it seems to always be different issues.

If they did not have the power/speed advantage over the other teams they would not be doing particularly well i feel.

Rusti 22-09-2014 03:16 PM

“Absolutely no explanation for this,” oh dear!

Hongkongfooi 22-09-2014 10:05 PM

Hopefully lewis has the momentum to now win the championship after this.:ok:

Steve_PPP 22-09-2014 10:17 PM

Agreed, he definitely deserves it more than Nico imo.

Thought the booing at Spa and Monza was funny, bet Vettel must be glad its not him taking the stick from the crowd anymore :D

Bytes 05-10-2014 07:46 PM

Good to see Lewis carry on the momentum, and what a great overtake on Nico :) Bad news about Bianchi though, hope he's not seriously hurt ...
