Got pretty much all my bits sorted and ready to take - anybody taking tools, I have a small kit and a larger kit, if nobody else is taking anything I'll take the larger kit.

I'll also have a 12v pump with me.

Anybody know if ScoobySi still wants to borrow an extinguisher from me?

Crowman 22-05-2011 06:00 PM

Im taking plastic crate with socket set, mole grips, screw drivers , oil, brake fluid, a few clips and odds and sods.

SpecB 22-05-2011 06:06 PM

I'll take the small kit then - no doubt we'll have enough between us then - I'll be taking a litre of oil hopefully I won't need any as the leaks are all fixed!

ScoobySi 22-05-2011 06:11 PM

I have a mate around the corner from me that is lending me a triangle and a fire extinguisher, cheers though blue for offering :)

Crowman 22-05-2011 06:12 PM

Funny really, 1st year we went we all just pretty much jumped in our cars and went :-)

SpecB 22-05-2011 06:21 PM

It's not the going that bothers me it's the coming back!

What when the honeymoon starts in Brugge.

Steve_PPP 22-05-2011 07:44 PM

I'll be taking some basic tool that'll let me change brake pads after my last experience with bluestuff NDXs - hopefully this set will be better!

Crowman 23-05-2011 12:28 PM

If anyone has not sorted their European breakdown cover, go with Churchill.
I have normally just upgraded my AA but they want £90.
I shopped around this morning and Churchill fully comprehensive cover is £37. Spot on.

Skullfudge 23-05-2011 12:55 PM

Does anyone have Gary M's (re Insurance) mobile, as I lost it with the other 528 contacts when swapping to the iPhone 4

Thanks

Thats pretty good, i'm with ADAC which gives you full European cover for a year for around £70, had to use them a couple of times, the last when my Scooby blew  and in the UK its the AA that comes out to you

No thanks i'll make do with the bitburger :hurrah:

ScoobySi 24-05-2011 04:55 PM

This might seem like a couple of stupid questions but, the gb sticker, is it the one on the number plate or the big one for the boot? And what are headlight beam deflectors?

Granby 24-05-2011 05:02 PM

If you have a GB badge on the number plate then you don't need one for the boot

Beam deflectors alter the headlamp beam the other way for continental driving so not to dazzle other drivers

ScoobySi 24-05-2011 05:03 PM

Isnt that what the switch on the centre dash is for? Cheers for pointing this out for me :)

What switch?

ScoobySi 24-05-2011 05:10 PM

Theres like a switch in the centre dash that can dim the lights I think. (think being the main word in that sentance :))

lol, no thats no good, in the UK the headlight beam aims to the the left, when driving on the continent that would dazzle the other drivers, so beam deflectors alter the beam so not to

ScoobySi 24-05-2011 05:17 PM

Damnit, where do you find these delectors then lol?

Its easy if you haven't done it before. Only confusing parts are strange junction layouts and going round roundabouts the wrong way :)

But there's a good size group of us and its a lot easier to just follow the leader if you want to
