Cheers for letting me know, hopefully the turbos alright fella.

kartingsteve 11-04-2011 02:11 PM

Will not be on track, I have had a few issues with the car but one day.

BIG"E" 14-04-2011 02:45 PM

Good luck to both of you taking part.

Have a good afternoon.

I will now not be attending.

Steve_PPP 14-04-2011 10:50 PM

Well.... what an evening that was.

Some lovely cars out there, some of them seriously quick! Much preferred the open pit lane format to the 20 minute sessions we did last year - more freedom to go out when i wanted and for however long i wanted.

The scoob did a great job, brakes were always going to struggle but they actually seemed to get better and better (i assume as the pads put more deposits on the discs?) until they started to fade about 20 minutes into a run.

Managed to get smoke pouring off the rears when coming back to the pits so at least they were getting a good workout :D Would definatey recommend the £25 instruction, lasted about 20 minutes (then a 15 minute chat about lines/techniques) and definately helps.

Cheers to Nick for the few laps in your car, although i feel i need to apologise too. My heavy arse must have contributed to your problem - it seemed fine with Sian in the car!! ;) Glad you got home ok and hope its quickly sorted.

Don't think anyone was taking pics so i'll have to have a look at the Brand's photography guys and see what they got.

BIG"E" 14-04-2011 11:12 PM

Got any idea of your times??

Steve_PPP 14-04-2011 11:26 PM

No idea... its not about the times.

The plan wasn't to push hard to improve times, thats when mistakes happen. All i can say is that they definately improved through the evening :)

Crowman 15-04-2011 12:21 AM

Very enjoyable night.
Nick, glad our little bodge got you home.
Steve considering your on standard 4 pots you were giving it plenty, hats off to you for making the most out of your time.

The eveing was so chilled out, no rushing, plenty of time to let the car cool down.
Evening open pit lane is def the way to go.
Both yours and nicks cars sounded sweet.
I did get 1 vid of you passing down the start finish straight.

majorscooby 15-04-2011 06:26 AM

Our little bodge got nick all the way home? Sweet :five:
A good excuse nick to upgrade that hose for a nice blingy blue one!!! or what ever colour tickles your fancies!

SpecB 15-04-2011 08:13 AM

Cheers guys! Planning to try and get a hose for Sundays meet but will be going Black Samco/Forge hoses ASAP!!!

Worried that I have a leak on another hose as well under the car so think they are now past their best!

Steve_PPP 15-04-2011 08:26 AM

So is it just a split under the pressure or did the fan cause it in the end??

Good bodge with a cable tie if it got you home tho! I imagine the oil cooler helped keep engine temps down a bit too :)

worzel 15-04-2011 08:46 AM

I will put my name down for the next one for sure.

When I saw the date put up in the very beginning I thought, "nope... to close to the ring for me" so I never went for it.

I can imagine it was pretty near perfect out there too? Good temperauture, not sunny, dry :drive:

It was

Clouds looked a bit dodgy at the start of the session but the rain never came.

Nice pics lads

I would be up for a brands session in the autumn. I was tempted by this one, but it was a little too close to Germany for me.
