They got wider in each shape update. Bugeye were best for the lanky folks (me included, although maybe not after Christmas! ;)), blob got a bit wider and hawkeye were wider again. The hawk sti's i've sat in are less supportive on the sides, don't hold you as well in the corners imo.

Not sure why you found a hawk with narrow seats? Pretty sure there was no different in hawk seat design between wrx/sti other than colour, but someone might be able to correct me on that?

cheers for reply steve, i will have to check them out again this was a few years ago i tried out a hawk just sure i remember it generally not feeling as big inside including seats as my blob at the time

Lucky 23-12-2012 08:08 PM

I will defo look at and try a couple of classics as well as blobs. Really like the look of the p1 as well. Can't wait to get out and get one sorted now. :drive:

I always found the hawks seats unsupportive and on several occasions nearly changed them. I found the blob seats much better.

Nige 24-12-2012 09:05 AM

Bugeye Sti seats were fantastic (for std seats) much better than the Hawk. Blobs not sure as never had one. Fugly seats are ****e to! :drive:

If my contract doesn't get renewed or I can't find another job in Feb I may be able to do you a deal on a nice, red, low mileage classic :-(

Well, for your sake mate, I hope you can get something sorted. Looks nice and clean that one.

scotty 04-01-2013 07:47 PM

Very nice and clean looking and the red paint work is gleaming for the age of the car

Red Baron 04-01-2013 08:57 PM

It does have centre caps on the wheels now, unfortunately its started to go round the rear arches but other than that its lovely inside and out. Not the end of the world if it has to go, I'll find another one if I sort out another job.

Clean low mileage 1-Owner MY2000 Classic in Hastings
http://www.garageonthegreen.com/used...saloon_648.htm

I spoke to the owner of this garage, who also owns the local SEAT dealership, last week, as he know's my fondness for Subaru's. He mentioned he had picked up a MINT Subaru. At the time I thought he was talking about a Newage as he called it a WRX, but it turns out to be a UK classic.

This garage does not have rubbish and it is not his normal age or type of vehilce, but he thought it was so good he would give it a go.
I have not yet seen it personally, but would confidently say it must be pretty clean.

Nige and Tim will also probably confirm that they do stock a good car........

Scooby_Greg 16-01-2013 07:56 PM

That's a really good find Scott. Only 65k miles too

It's exactly how mine started ;)..... nice project :D:D:D:D

Lucky 16-01-2013 08:09 PM

Thank you Scott, that looks spot on. I will give him a call in the morning and get my butt over there.

Scott.T 16-01-2013 08:17 PM

I'll be around if you need me.....

scotty 16-01-2013 09:52 PM

That is a mint classic and is also a bargin at that price .

MIDLIFE 16-01-2013 10:24 PM

£220 road tax? my bug is £270 a year, looks very clean and the fastest colour as well. is it a bit overpriced? would like to sell my jdm bug for that price.

Anger 16-01-2013 10:28 PM

I sold mine for that price 6 years ago with 62'000 miles 2 owners

I thought so too, £4k is well into newage territory now :(

An STI or type r/ra and it'd be justified....

Red Baron 17-01-2013 09:50 AM

You could have mine for a lot less and we all know red ones are faster :-)

Nige 17-01-2013 02:00 PM

I've seen it. It's very clean. As for price yes a little over priced for the average rusty one. On the other hand try & find a 1 owner classic with 69k genuine on it. :drive:

Lucky 17-01-2013 07:56 PM

Thats cool nige. I am trying to get over there but am working friday and sat although I am trying to rearrange some stuff for saturday as I'd like to see it.. As you say, it is a little heavy on price but then there are not many originals left like this, so worth paying a bit extra for i think.

If its good I would just be straight with him and say what's its worth to you. I reckon with a bit of haggling he should let it go for 3.5K. He probably picked it up for 2K or less, and only just got it, so a quick turn for him at 3.5K and he should be well happy. Even dealers will do a deal.

Well, there you go. Just shows that a good car will get decent money and still sell quick. Gutted, as I has planned to go over saturday, but didn't due to the snow. Got tomorrow off and thought i would get over there, but its gone :-(

Hongkongfooi 20-01-2013 07:28 PM

how are getting on with the other two cars mentioned here?

That's a shame mate, as you say just shows what a good'un will fetch.

Steve_PPP 20-01-2013 08:19 PM

Its new owner probably owned a BM and got sick of not being able to go anywhere in the snow - impulse buy i bet ;)
