Decided to change the air filter that came with the APS induction pipe as it looked a bit small and had seen better days, couldn't fit the new filter on the induction pipe so had to use a nice big piece of silicon hose with a 45 degree bend

Standard filter in the wheel arch

New filter against the old

Filter should get plenty of cold air through the fog light cover

Squadron-Leader 17-09-2009 05:28 PM

I say... that's a rather large one you have! Only just fits in that small hole... fnar fnar.

Looks very trick though

AndyWRX 17-09-2009 07:36 PM

looks wicked mate bet its loud, youll get plenty of cold air to the filter but watch out for puddles

Granby 18-09-2009 01:26 PM

Exhaust is on and sounds very nice, no louder than my old system which is what i wanted but i now have a few pops & bangs even without anti-lag

Granby 18-09-2009 04:50 PM

A couple of pics of the engine bay, sprayed the intercooler pipes black plus a couple of other bits & pieces done to tidy it up ;)

Granby 23-09-2009 05:08 PM

Had the car mapped again for the 3" exhaust and it made a grand total of 2bhp more (434bhp) :o
Seems i have a slight misfire which is holding it back, gonna try a new set of spark plugs and see how that goes :)

SUBARMAN 23-09-2009 07:49 PM

Go on! Fit that top mount!!!

worzel 24-09-2009 10:23 AM

Granby 24-09-2009 01:45 PM

AndyWRX 27-10-2009 06:13 PM

good job you found it before it developed into something more serious

Granby 07-11-2009 03:19 PM

Just a little update, car hasn't been running properly lately, lumpy idle, hesitation at 2500rpm and crap fuel consumption

Simon (JGM) came round yesterday and it seems my lambda sensor has packed up, Simon did have a spare sensor but unfortunately it was the wrong one

For a laugh i phoned Subaru and they wanted £242.45  , on the advice of Simon i got in contact with http://www.lambdasensor.com/ and they are sending me one for the grand total of £69 inc delivery

C. J. 07-11-2009 03:24 PM

Be careful there Granby!!!!!

Remember that you are a Pilot Officer, and Mr X is in fact "CAPTAIN X", who holds the rank of, well er, CAPTAIN.

And he could have you for insubordination and rudery grade 5, no less!

Also he has his inflatable trousers remember, and you don't want to get on the wrong side of those!!

Brought to you by the "Bureau of Helpful Hints on Avoiding Insubordination and the Like". There are no fees for this service.

Granby 16-11-2009 01:47 PM

Got to say what great service i've had from http://www.lambdasensor.com/ , ordered the Lambda sensor on Friday about 2pm, got a email on Saturday to say it's been posted and it arrived on Monday morning :D

I just had to post as it was the 1000th viewing of this thread. And it isd a bloody good one.

On a random (ish) topic. Ian, I only found out today that the orignal British Forces code name for the original Gulf War was "Operation Granby".

Is that where the name comes from?

Steve
