You'll still be working on your scoob the week before we leave.

The pound to euro exchange rate is very good at the moment.

If you have got some spare money, now would be a good time to buy your euros.

Just my opinion, this is worth considering..

Just checked, that is good.... In 2013 I took 900 euros which cost me £780. The same 900 euros now only costs £687

I assume this hotel takes cards for room payments rather than taking a load of extra cash? Although might make sense to take cash anyway as the exchange rate might not be as good in May.....

Scott.T 28-01-2015 06:16 PM

Yes they take cards

Ginola 29-01-2015 04:23 PM

It might well continue to get better as the euro zone is in turmoil

I've no doubt this possible.

We obviously need to know which nights,

it would be good if you could join us either on the way out or the return journey..:ok:

scooby doo 01-02-2015 09:08 PM

Had a bit of a result today when my brother returned from his skiing trip in Italy with 250 Euro's left over. I offered him some cash at a very favourable rate for myself and he gladly accepted. Think it's the best exchange rate I am going to get!

scotty 02-02-2015 08:14 PM

Definitely going on my own is there any chance I can change my room to a single please or if none left just keep me as on the list .

scooby doo 02-02-2015 10:16 PM

Didn't end up sorting money so just checked today and its the best rate i've seen so far - 1.3176 euros to the £. Wonder if the euro will fall further or if getting rid of Greece will actually revive some confidence in the currency?

scotty 10-02-2015 01:44 PM

When will be the date to pay the balance in full or do we pay on departure of the hotel .

Full payment will be required sometime between 1st May and our Departure Date.
I will probably set the cut-off for something like 12th May in order to give me time to get it wired out to Eddy.

Whilst there you only then need to pay for Beer (if not using Lidl's) and evening meals.
I expect this year we will only be eating 'on-site' once as we have Pisten Clause booked for 1 night and there's a few other eating houses in the area.

Today is looking good.

555_Si 11-02-2015 03:32 PM

where is a good place to change money? i always used the post office or just withdrew cash abroad, but as I have turned 40 I seem to be a bit tighter now.

Try thomas Cook Si that's where I usally get mine from .

Scott.T 11-02-2015 05:38 PM

Tesco was easiest for me, and similar price to Post Office.

Steve_PPP 11-02-2015 06:45 PM

I've always used iceplc.com (International Currency Exchange) as I found they offer the best rates. Money is posted to you via insured delivery.

Just don't leave it to the last minute as if it does go missing, you need to wait two weeks before they re-send it (to allow for courier screw-ups). Never had a problem though.

Scooby_Greg 11-02-2015 06:52 PM

If you're ever seen in London there's loads of places that have much better rates than on the High Street or in banks. I managed to get 1.35 today, which is the highest I've ever seen :)
It's difficult to know if it's going to get any better though!

C. J. 11-02-2015 07:31 PM

I personally us a post office credit card as no charges and same rate as changing cash

BIG"E" 20-02-2015 09:58 PM

In 90 days !!!! give or take a few hours we will be on our way!!!!

Any one else interested ???

Steve_PPP 22-02-2015 08:03 PM

This year seems to have come round very quickly! Looking forward to it :)

scotty 22-02-2015 08:49 PM

So am I may is a busy month for me car will be ready for it .

Now at 1.3604 euros to the £ on iceplc.com, that's a fair change in only a few weeks. Getting cheaper and cheaper for us!

BIG"E" 06-03-2015 06:48 PM

Well look what arrived today, I ordered these only 3 days ago..:ok:

With a certain amount of uncertainty with regards to lap costs I decided to get things sorted.

2 x 4 lap tickets arrived today 205 euros (including postage) for 8 laps...

Still plenty of time left to order laps if I dare put my car on haha .

Steve_PPP 06-03-2015 07:38 PM

I was thinking of doing the same Ian, I'm not sure what the new charging system is going to be in the future but I know the prices were frozen at last years rate until April...

I read that they don't have an expiry now, that definitely the case? If so, i'll probably get a 9 lap ticket which works out at 215 euro delivered. Whatever I don't use in May can carry over to next year I assume.

Steve, I was told the ones bought before 30th April will be cheaper but still only last for 2015. Those bought under the new pricing system from 1st May may or may not last longer but it has not been announced officially yet. None of it is particularly clear but unless you are told specifically then assume they only last for this year.
