Copy of text I've just sent out to all my Scooby contacts in my phone :

To all my Scooby people.
Anyone want to come to the GT Blancpain/Supercar event at Brands Hatch on 7th May.
Brands have sent me extra FREE tickets for a passenger which wasn't part of the original discussion I had with them. We have 15 cars on stand as part of the event but 30 entrance tickets. Therefore 15 spare. We can't get more than 15 cars on stand due to the space and mirror hangers provided. But we could fit more people in a car.
All you would need to do is meet up with us, drop you car in the main car park and jump in a Scooby to get in the gate. You can then leave when you like.
Let me know

Scott.T 29-04-2017 11:43 AM

Checked back through my emails this evening to make sure I wasn't going mad with regard to what Brands Hatch offered us, quote "No problem. I can confirm you will be allocated a space for 10 cars – each will receive one free entry ticket".
Which I then managed to extend out to 15 cars and we got 30 tickets !!!!

All I can assume is they got confused with the Supercar Siege 'Purchased' tickets which I believe were for car/driver/passenger.

Apologies to all those that paid for the additional tickets, but these are unforeseen circumstances.
If you know anyone else that wants to go maybe a deal can be struck against the face value of the ticket you purchased. You can then get in on the free issued one.

On the first post says about a BBQ etc
Is this still happening? If so what does everyone need to bring and where are we meeting?

The Handbrake 03-05-2017 08:41 PM

I have a little BBQ if needed and allowed by the organisers. I also have the tea and coffee urns (table is available here if your gazebo- ing it) if you would like them (bring a mug or two if Scott is happy to have all this with us).
Sorry the picture came out a bit big

I'm not sure if BBQ are allowed.
We could probably get away with it on the Southbank hard standing but now we are part of the event we will be in the main area, more than likely on the start/finish straight banking/parking area.
Feel free to bring your own food but a BBQ on the grass is likely to get the men in Hi-Vis paying you a visit.

Steve_PPP 03-05-2017 10:06 PM

I'll bring the gazebo but if we're on gravel/tarmac then probably won't be able to put it up, don't want it taking off in the breeze.

Ok sandwiches it is then and a few nice folding chairs :)

SpecB 04-05-2017 07:27 AM

I've got a Gas BBQ and also a small portable Hob if allowed? Or we could bring the Caravan!

Will there be an issue with us leaving mid afternoon, not sure the Boys will take the full day!

Rdlangy1 04-05-2017 12:00 PM

was gonna ask the same about leaving 3:30-4pm as I have to get to the hosp by 5pm :ok:

Scott.T 04-05-2017 12:09 PM

Message from Brands re:BBQ.
To summarise its a 'NO' for were we will be parked.

Hi Scott, small BBQs are permitted on Southbank only and must be lifted off the grass (eg: no disposable BBQs directly in contact with the grass). Please note that our fire marshals reserve the right to extinguish BBQs if they deem this appropriate action (e.g: smoke is drifting onto the track area).

Scott.T 04-05-2017 12:11 PM

Leaving early is not normally a problem at Brands although there is a parade lap for owners/clubs late in the day (probably as a method to retain people)

You are already on the list at position 15.
I can add the plus one.

Neil97rs 04-05-2017 05:25 PM

are there any plans to convoy up? If so what times and where?

If not where are we meeting and at what time outside Brands?

The Handbrake 04-05-2017 06:05 PM

Hi Scott,
We can bring the table/urns/biscuits / a cake for either putting up in the gazebo or Camper Scoob if Dave is ok with that in his car

Thanks Wanda that will be great.
If we are where we were last year we can pin the Gazeebo on the grass in front of the cars.
