I call dibs! Need more track experience!

Do passengers have to be there for the briefings?

I don't believe so, but they certainly have to sign on and pay the passenger fee (which I think is £10) before getting an wristband to be allowed on track. Hopefully someone can confirm, but I think this is how its worked last time.

Helmets are available from Goodwood to hire for the day or bring your own.

Scooby_Greg 08-04-2015 05:39 PM

Goodwood generally need the passengers to be around at the same time in order to get the wrist bands. They don't have to listen to the briefing but it's normally the case that's the only time you can get the bands. Not sure about this being a Harwoods day though.

Ginola 08-04-2015 06:47 PM

Should also be able to offer a passenger lap or two as I doubt The Handbrake wants to be in the car for lots of it ;) Not sure about the passenger wrist band status either, don't know if there is a late (lunch time briefing where passengers could get a wrist band or not)

Scott.T 08-04-2015 07:16 PM

It's not clear (unless I missed something) if there is an additional charge for 'Passengers' but the total price is detailed as being for car + driver(s) so there does not appear to be a charge for additional drivers, therefore I would assume the same for passengers.

I expect you will be able to sign on as a passenger at any time as there is usually someone around in the Jackie Stewart suite.
Drivers (+ Guest) do get lunch ;)

DRIVER Briefing is at 0830

555_Si 08-04-2015 08:39 PM

Scoob is almost ready for mot, new downpipe fitted tonight, old one sheared into two as I was taking it off!

You'll have to find someone else to wrap their hand round your huge pipework and help wiggle it out as I won't be there this time.

I can highly recommend a lap with Steve - one of the highlights of the last time we were on the Ring : D .

I would have full faith in his ability at Goodwood too!!

As for Dave, he'll be flagged back in after tripping off the noise limit on the back straight no doubt ; 0

And when you go out with him he'll be wide eyed, gritting his teeth, and cackling like a maniac ; )

Well worth it - despite what the The Handbrake may have to say !

Hope you all have a great time- really wish I could join you !!!

The Handbrake 10-04-2015 11:27 AM

Baking at the mo. Only cakes, biscuits and coffee this time as plenty of food available otherwise at Goodwood. Lemon drizzle squares, chequered flag cookies, coffee and walnut cake and either brownies or baked cheesecake ( not decided on last one). Sugar rush to keep those minds eyes peeled all day xx.

Oh Dave is bring "that exhaust" again so your dead right with the black flag but he will be taking his spare lol.

If Dave is concentrating hard on a lap he sounds like darth vadar.

I'm as relaxed as a lazy Sunday morning going round with Dave, the sheer terror on my face was just for the photos... honest.

Dave is an awesome driver though just im a " trying hard to be good co pilot" which I'm told or rather I plead is often better out of the car where I can wave my arms about to my hearts content.

555_Si 10-04-2015 01:59 PM

Seat installed..check, FMIC installed....check, remapped...check (thanks Neil (Slowboy), exhaust sorted..check, uprated engine mounts installed.....oh @@@@..... Back under the car this afternoon then!

I have had to pull out due to family illness during the night and I am now sat here on bucket duty.
Steve/Si you both have texts.
I hope you have a good one and take plenty of pics as our regular photographer aka Olly.T ain't feeling too well at the moment:vom::vom:

555_Si 11-04-2015 04:32 AM

Sorry to hear that Scott, hope Olly feels better soon, pop down if things change for better and you can use some of my track time.

Ginola 11-04-2015 06:43 AM

Hope Olly is ok soon mate, if things improve hope you can make it down later on

Steve_PPP 11-04-2015 06:58 AM

Just read your txt Scott. Sorry to hear you're on bucket duty!!

Like the others said, if things improve later on this morning pop down for the afternoon, sure we could get you signed on at lunch time if your stomach hasn't gone the same way as Ollys! :D

Banstead Stig 11-04-2015 08:15 AM

I'm going to fail to appear as a spectator I'm afraid.

Done something to my shoulder (seems rotator cuff damage) and at the moment can't imagine being able to change gear too easily, so not sensible to go on a jaunt!

Have fun all.

I will bloody well make it to one of these meets!!

Hongkongfooi 11-04-2015 04:22 PM

great to see everyone again. thank god the weather improved.

Unfortunately there was a small off for one of our lot but probably no one injured and easily repaired. I had to leave early but those on track this afternoon lovely conditions. great selection of cars on view too.

Rdlangy1 11-04-2015 05:20 PM

Glad everyone had a good time :ok:

C. J. 11-04-2015 05:58 PM

Simon and Jo are both fine, there was some tears but I gave Simon some tissues.

The damage at first inspection seems to be dare I say not to bad.

Certainly fixable but its a question of time and money..

Rdlangy1 11-04-2015 06:52 PM

Glad everyone is in one piece :ok:

BIG"E" 11-04-2015 06:53 PM

Steve_PPP 11-04-2015 07:06 PM

Great day on circuit, glad the weather improved from first thing, the first session was very greasy but after about 11ish it was perfect.

Certainly a nice change to get a free buffet lunch, and the whole day was very relaxed (for most!). Certainly more cars than I expected though, even with a full day pass I can't imagine getting in more than 5 or 6 sessions just due to the pit lane queue round to the paddock.

Si - hopefully when you get a chance to take bumper/wing off the car then there's not too much damage underneath. Super-strength t-cut might be being optimistic though! :D

Thanks to everyone for coming along, good to see quite a few SES regulars come down to spectate and some newer members too :ok:
