Fitted the Incartech 26-677 steering wheel remote adapter today thanks to the instructions from UKLegacy only took 20mins or so I've used bullets for the splice so I can reattach the original wiring easily if I put the old stereo back in (You never know when a manual facelift twinscroll will fall into my price range!).

KiDO tune version 1 uploaded today - definite improvement in low end pick up, Without changes to the DBW map. Delivery also feels slightly more linear without the dip before 4k that was always present.

Quick update - all the tuning is completed and car is running around 260-70BHp depending on how calculated! Much better throttle response and a real noticeable surge when the AVCS kicks in.
Just ordered a 'new' gearbox as the centre Diff has gone in mine and was able to get a very low milage box from Japan for not much more than a replacement centre Diff would cost fitted so I'll be getting the clutch replaced at the same time. |

Shame your diff issue be nice to see your ontop of sorting it.. is a jdm box the Shame ratio ? |

Picked the car up with the ‘new box’ and new OE clutch and flywheel along with uprated shifter bushes.
Clutch is much lighter than before - the old one was down to the rivets even though it wasn’t slipping. Box feels tighter than the old one 52000km verses 130000miles! The drive to the Xmas meal will be the real test as the box will get hot enough to show any diff issues! |
New gearbox is now in along with the std clutch and flywheel. The new clutch is much lighter than the old one which was down to the rivets but not showing any signs of slipping or significant juddering when driven!
The gearshift is much lighter and also more positive even though my local garage didn't replace the rear mounting bush for the shift linkage as they were only looking at the box for where to put the bushes - so this will be a job for later in the year. I'll be picking the old box up early next year and may take the rear diff out for a look to see how bad it looks unless anybody wants a broken box! Car also starts better (much quieter) now, I assume because the starter motor will have been cleaned and greased while out. |

The pictures not my car - the hose is a special order part - took a bit of digging to find a UK supplier even though they are made here as I didn't fancy paying for a hose to travel to Japan and back!
I am now trying to find a brake stopper though! |

Just fitted the Samco intake hose - should be a bit less restrictive now the old hose had a resonator and corrugations in it - also noticed when I removed it that it had been pinched at the airbag possibly causing an air leak post MAF.. In the next couple of weeks I'm also going to swap the K & N for a Cosworth filter, clean the MAF and remove the airbag resonator to try and clean up the intake route.

No longer and oily K & N filter as I’ve now fitted the Cosworth dry version - car already feels better with the MAF cleaned as well - the old filter was also filthy (think it’s been 2 years since last cleaned) so not helping things. Only bugger is I broke the engine cover taking it off so now running without!

Having a bit of a play with a spare grille has resulted in this - need to properly attach the mesh and paint the inside. Probably going to paint the chrome (it’s chrome paint) the same gunmetal as the roof rails. I did consider trying to wrap it carbon but don’t think it’ll Work as the edge will be exposed.

Having given up replacing the lower ball joint the garage also had issues having to remove the whole hub and the extract the broken pinch bolt! All back together with no knocks/rattles now! They also had to patch up the brake backing plate with a bit of weld before it fell off! Unfortunately due to the design on the legacy to remove the backing plat you have to remove the bearing as well and the fact the pinch bolt was corroded solid means the bearing is probably in the same state!
So on the way to me is a set of JDM front hubs and Alloy wishbones which I will refurbish with new bearings and fully poly bush before swapping over. Anybody got any tips for paints for the hub/steering knuckle? |
Any possibility you could get them powder coated, would be a lot better finish and hard wearing, just depends on how much of a rush you're in?
I was cleaning up the piston on the rear caliper of mine earlier and noticed the stone guard was a little worse for wear as I was putting it back together. |
