I have just ordered some more road tyres, as my current ones have had it.

I will certainly be taking my jack.

Something else to do now..

Yes, also saw that this morning. Hopefully it'll change again before the weekend, the current forecast even says snow is possible overnight :cuckoo:

But then this time last week we thought that Supercar Siege would be a washout - and it turned out as a nice day with not a drop of rain :)

Thunder and heavy snow on Friday morning - shouldn't settle but could be interesting! When I looked at the forecast a couple of days ago it was going to be sunny and 24C!!

Thunder and heavy snow on Friday morning  Is it too late to change the car details and prep the Landrover

555_Si 20-05-2013 06:00 PM

I think i'll take some kayaks with me, serious amount of rain due over weekend, might as well leave your track tyres at home.

Steve_PPP 20-05-2013 06:15 PM

Its changing all the time. There's less snow showing now on the Saturday morning that there was when i checked earlier today.

But still, its unbelievable that we're even talking about the possibility of snow. Its normally baking hot at this time of year and and we're all chuckling at those that removed their air-con to save weight

You never know.... there's a lot of rain drop graphics on the weather reports on myweather2.com, but the precipitation level is tiny like 0.5mm - thats not a lot in 3 hours so it could rain for 10 minutes and then the sun come out!

(Yes, positive thinking here ;))

BIG"E" 20-05-2013 06:17 PM

Or do we pack sledges aswell??

It will be fine Im after volunteers possibly to carry a wheel,

I so want to take my 888s..

Looks like these will be a waste of time, even if the sun does come out there could still be large sections under cover that stay pretty wet. And what do you do if you drive to the track on 888's in the sun only for it to pour down 10 minutes after you get to the car park ????

Save em' for a Brands session......and those lovely hot evenings we will get in October when summer arrives.

Steve_PPP 20-05-2013 08:04 PM

What did you get for your new set of road tyres, Ian?

We'll definitely have to sort one of these out, but maybe sooner than October ;)

They're fine as long as there's no standing water. Mine will be coming!

Ginola 20-05-2013 09:43 PM

One hopes its dry, thought of ring virgin (me) in the wet is scary :)

The weekend we went the weather outlook was rubbish. It turned out to be very very hot. As most of you know the Eiffel mountains has its very own climate. Fingers crossed & enjoy that fantastic place. Will post at some point for Ring 2 Sep/Oct. :drive:

Its not actually a bad way to learn the circuit in the wet (i did two wet laps on the first year i went). It keeps most of the fast supercars and bikers off the circuit and means you can concentrate on whats ahead rather than having to watch the mirrors all the time!

Alright Nige :) yes you're right - the place can be cold and wet one minute and baking the next. We've been very fortunate with the weather over the last few years so sods laws says we're due a bit of rain at some point.

Steve_PPP 21-05-2013 11:04 AM

Looks like the chances of snow are fading now. Saturday now looking dry all day :) but Sunday wet :(

Lucky 21-05-2013 11:08 AM

It'll be fine mate. We wont let a bit of rain spoil it. As Nige said, chances are they'll get it wrong anyway. I think we will probably just get a mixed bag of wet and dry hopefully.

Spocks Beard 21-05-2013 01:52 PM

Like Nige said, we were supposed to have rubbish weather on at least one day while we were there. Every day turned out to be 26 degrees and wall to wall sunshine, happy days and all that.

In the end it was perfect, track open virtually every moment of it allotted times apart from 1 accident. The track was pretty much empty too, with everyone getting really good clear runs. And I got to take 2400 photo's.

Scooby_Greg 21-05-2013 04:49 PM

I'm getting a bit obsessive now. Have checked the forecast 3 times so far today and it has changed each time. I'm going to stop looking now and just pack for every contingency -shorts, sunglasses, gloves,thermals... If we get good weather it will just be a bonus.

555_Si 21-05-2013 04:56 PM

stopped looking at forecast myself it just p'eed me off.

having major panic about parts arriving before we go at moment.

Still managed to finally get my ADAC membership sorted.

BIG"E" 21-05-2013 05:04 PM

Looks like the 888s are going on..

SpecB 21-05-2013 05:50 PM

Just had my v12s fitted, found Sian's Passport, found all the EU travel stuff for the car, need to ring Barclays to see if my car is covered if not get breakdown sorted then pack clothes!

thermals! its not going to be that cold greg! or does Dave H like to see you in all sorts of getup:shock:

SpecB 21-05-2013 06:46 PM

Bother!

My 'free' RAC cover with Barclays covers repatriation yay! But only on cars UP to 11 years old, mines 11 years 20 days! Be calling ADAC tomorrow I think!

555_Si 21-05-2013 08:59 PM

if you don't get through, keep calling. Barbera rang back and left a message at around lunchtime and when I called back later she sorted everything out for me.

They take payment by Visa or MasterCard and takes about 3 hours to get membership numbers through, you are covered from Midnight,

555_Si 22-05-2013 08:31 PM

and I have peace and quiet, lovely new Milltek back box. Bit too quiet, but lovely compared to the H&S combination I just took off. Definitly a motorway exhaust for long trips now.

New ARB fitting tomorrow and I think I am pretty well ready. At last. phew!

Steve_PPP 22-05-2013 08:36 PM

Good job mate :ok:

Glad you got the exhaust sorted, quiet isn't a bad thing if you want to do more trackdays

Granby 22-05-2013 08:53 PM

Quiet is good, who wants to be a noisy sod

Well done Si...

Scooby_Greg 22-05-2013 10:07 PM

Nice one Simon! I'm getting worried as I haven't even thought about packing yet and not back until late tomorrow. Still have to work out how to get the 888s in as I decided to travel down on the crappy wheels - looks like seats out and back in again once I've got them in the back.

Can't wait now though...:yeah:

555_Si 22-05-2013 10:36 PM

sorry i haven't offered to take any tyres, just a bit worried about arch clearance as i'm running quite low and still fiddling with shock settings.

Ginola 22-05-2013 10:42 PM

I don't mind putting a wheel of someone's (Ian / Greg) on the back seat as long as its wrapped in something clean ;)

Lucky 23-05-2013 09:19 AM
