Most recent pic of the car.

Going to Dan at SSS on Thursday for some Gearbox/Clutch love, and the final Cat coming off.

Bits to go on in the next few weeks, Apexi Coilovers, 255 Pump.

Got Hawk Eye STI seats coming tomorrow, then being shipped off for a retrim.

Spoilerless boot, for £30!!! Filled the holes, will be getting it wrapped to match the roof/bonnet.

ralliart didz 19-06-2012 12:29 AM

Bargin boot I got for £30 now Wrapped. Did my self, took hours, not bad for a first time.

So in all, about £60.00 for a new rear end look.

Skullfudge 10-07-2012 07:12 PM

looking good mate

andy-m 12-07-2012 11:00 AM

looking good. I am considering doing the wrap on my roof as the clearcoat has stared to go off. was there a guide on the net that you looked at to find out how to do it ?
I've done window tints before, (Not great at it) so I guess it's a similar process?

Mortster 12-07-2012 08:38 PM

Do a few small bits first, you get used to working with it. I was up till 1.00 Sunday Morning doing it though, took about 4 hours. Peel abit off, smooth down, peel a bit off, smooth down...repeat repeat.

I got a sheet 3m by 1.5m for £40.00 from flebay.

Mortster 29-09-2012 03:39 PM

Made 255 af SRR Today, not bad for just a decat. Needs a Map and a few supporting bits now to push it further. :D

Did this over the weekend. Very easy, already had the required different hand brake.

http://www.southeastscoobies.co.uk/v...1&d=1359572864

Just need to plastipant it now.

Also finally replaced my cracked Pro-drive lights, was a mission, have learnt a lot along the way. It was much much cheaper than buying them from Subaru, for exactly the same part. Upgraded to HIDs while I had them out.

Scooby_Greg 30-01-2013 09:45 PM

Looks really good - have you tried the aircon/ heating yet? It works much better with the revised controls installed.

bonner 30-01-2013 11:19 PM

Mortster 02-03-2013 07:36 PM

SpecB 03-03-2013 07:17 AM

Get on the blower to Alyn for a slip jointed Harvey pipe.

Mortster 06-03-2013 02:29 PM

The offending item...

SpecB 06-03-2013 07:54 PM

Spoiler less, dv less and now flangeless! Any more lesses possible in the Subaru community?

Mortster 07-04-2013 06:39 PM

Seeing as I washed the car yesterday for Goodwwod this morning, I used some time finishing the insides this afternoon.

Hawk Seats, Dash and Door cards. Dash also plastidipped.

Just need to get some new mats.

http://www.mortster.net/images/Hella...130407_004.jpg

bonner 07-04-2013 07:21 PM

it looks good...been thinking of doing that to mine:ok:

SpecB 07-04-2013 08:49 PM

Need to redo mine, will be using the plasticote spray

Mortster 09-05-2013 08:30 PM

After getting this, I decided to have a go at porting while it was all off.

http://www.mortster.net/images/Headw...Work%20(1).jpg

Header Pre-port.

http://www.mortster.net/images/Headw...Work%20(2).jpg

Both sides pretty coked up, 10 years worth I imagine.

http://www.mortster.net/images/Headw...Work%20(3).jpg

Always get new ones, cheap from Japimportparts.

http://www.mortster.net/images/Headw...Work%20(4).jpg

With the up pipe, got a real STi one with no cat. Much easier to get in and out through that bloody small gap.

http://www.mortster.net/images/Headw...Work%20(5).jpg

Looked up a few images on Google, as long as you don't go beyond the ring of the gasket, its grind away. I took off a fair amount, and gave it a 45 degree angle as recommended. Smoothed it down as far inside as the dremel would go too, took the nasty burs off. One side has a big lump sat right be the port.

http://www.mortster.net/images/Headw...Work%20(6).jpg

http://www.mortster.net/images/Headw...Work%20(7).jpg

http://www.mortster.net/images/Headw...Work%20(9).jpg

And to finish, heat wrapped the up pipe. To get around the CEL light error, which comes on instantly, like the airbag mod, a 2.2k ohm resistor gets plugged into the socket.
