Its not the ECU thats the problem mate. Take a look in the staffroom.

Anger 03-04-2012 01:16 PM

I'm pulling ur pisser Nige and I have looked hahaha

Steve_PPP 03-04-2012 01:25 PM

Seems like this is a no-goer then i guess :(

I haven't booked yet on the off-chance that this might happen.... maybe we'll sort something for later in the summer.

Scooby_Greg 03-04-2012 01:34 PM

This morning I've just been able to re-arrange my business trip for that week so I could go along. Typical timing!

What I might do now is book for the day as it's better value if funds allow.

By then it'll probably be £2/ litre and it will from Murco.
Luckily the other car runs on normal unleaded so it's been easier to get hold of rather than being tied to v-power with the scoob.

Nige 03-04-2012 05:45 PM

The big A runs on 95ron? ! :EVO:

Skullfudge 03-04-2012 06:03 PM

My Sister & her Husband had booked a flight from Canada and they were landing at 7.10pm on Tue 17th April. We were then collecting them from Heathrow and I booked a hotel in London where the 4 of us were going to stay the night before heading down Cornwall the following day.

I made out I had an important meeting on 17th when I heard about Brands so they changed their flight to 19th.

I've cancelled the mini bus but couldn't change hotel date so I lost about £400 there, but other than that all is cool :)

Steve_PPP 03-04-2012 07:10 PM

Clive,

Really sorry if this is the reason for you being left out of pocket so badly. Unfortunately its just a shame when trying to organise these things that we get the ball rolling and get a good sized list, then everyone drops out. Tried to drum up support at the Chailey meet (as you know) but seemed i was fighting an uphill battle :(

I've still booked the day off work and could still do it, but think its best to try and rearrange it for another time if theres only 2 of us (its not like my scoob will offer you any competition either!). Like you say, guess we'll all have to save it for the Ring!

Bolesroor 03-04-2012 07:20 PM

Really :sadno: everyone is dropping out., although not on track was going to be there as one of the few times work and events dont clash and it`s just down the road for me

Skullfudge 03-04-2012 07:21 PM

Don't be sorry Steve.

It's all bull5hit :)

I was trying to make Nige feel bad :yeah:

Steve_PPP 03-04-2012 07:22 PM

You're a sod sometimes mate, i proper fell for that

I really enjoyed the taster session we did last year.

Perhaps another of those?

Maybe so :)

That got a great amount of interest, but that was partially due to the photoshoot we did on track i guess.

Will reassess things after Germany and see whats what.

Yep, it's very low tech. No anti-knock or anything as advanced as an evo or scoob. There's no advantage running it on any higher ron apart from the additional cleaning additives you get in some.

Jolly Green Monster 03-04-2012 09:01 PM

when you finally want it sorted properly Nige, let me know ;) ;) :D :p

If this is going to the Ring can I have a go? I mean as a passenger. If you do this for me I promis to stop calling the ugly ummm well ugly. The big Aston has always come top in my books, I love em.

It's beyond a joke mate. It's a Motec ecu why can't they get it sorted it's meant to be easy. Well for a mapper anyway. It might even be ok Simon Im not sure. I just want o make sure it is before driving it again. It isn't just one car that's gone bang from this guy......:ninja:

Jolly Green Monster 03-04-2012 11:05 PM

although I gest, I am also serious, bring it over to surrey for a power run and I will detcan check it and discuss the dyno plots for nothing, you will just need to pay charlie for a powerrun..

Simon

Nige 03-04-2012 11:36 PM

Very generous & a fantastic offer. Still no petrol of choice at this end though. JRM have also put a lock code on the ecu??

Jolly Green Monster 03-04-2012 11:38 PM

I was suggesting detcans and a couple of dyno pulls to see if it is safe.

Lock code makes no odds for that. If its not safe then options need to be sorted from that point.

Crowman 03-04-2012 11:59 PM

Come on Nige , you bottled it

I wouldn't trust him Greg ;)

My first year at the ring, Nige came for a passenger lap to give me directions. He called a flat left ahead.... track went right

Should be possible to get under 9 mins, wasn't far off last year and i'm armed with ksports instead of wrx 4pots now :drive:

But i'm not going to go nuts out there, much rather enjoy the trip and keep the car in one piece!

Skullfudge 04-04-2012 01:04 PM

Agree.......... I had Neil sitting besides me on my first lap and its well worth it.

You should be in the 9's surely Steve ??

Neil estimated my first lap in the mid 9's and to be totally honest we were pottering about around many parts.

Thats down to your car being so fast on the straight bits.

Yours would be faster round the Ring Nige. On the straights I would edge past, but on the twisty bits I wouldn't even see you disappear....

Skullfudge 04-04-2012 03:45 PM

Nige.............. remember last year at The Ring when you and I went to fill up at that garage at the end of those real tight twisty lanes ?

Well I must admit your car did look impressive around the bends mate.

I have driven an Evo 7, 8 & 10 and they are better in the bends to the point you need to be pretty brave finding the limits unless on an RAF apron or similar.

I prefer Scoobz purely down to the raw feel and driver input required in the bends but I do understand why guys like the Evos as the trick electronics that sort out the bends are impressive and in your case makes a bloke who hasn't got a clue what he is doing in the driving seat look really good. :-P

Fudge <--------- expecting a mouth full about the closing sentence :more:

Nige 04-04-2012 04:47 PM

Ha! Ha! so funny. Hasnt that type r of yours got a diff controler then? Ive only in the last 3 weeks put the ecu back in that runs the ayc. So for the last 2 year's it was just an open diff nothing special. All the Scoobs you buy now have got trick diffs & the rest. So ive decided to join in.

Not a clue what your on about. If you were still with me i cant of been trying :more:

Nige 04-04-2012 05:00 PM

Anyway im not into trivial matter's as to who can or cant do whatever. I will at some point be sat in a Vantage V12 just listening to pure unstressed performance. Now thats what i call 1st class. I want pics, vids & sound especially when i go in this. Errrrrmmm Gregs other car dont look to bad eighther dose it?
