Heavy rain according to the met office for Saturday. :0(

MIDLIFE 14-05-2013 10:08 AM

Just checking am I right in thinking that you can have one or two passengers in your car (I am on the list) that do not need to pay to gain entry?

majorscooby 14-05-2013 10:37 AM

Yeah I think that's right, I maybe bringing the misses or a mate and have only paid for the car entry.

Yep just seen on the met office app, bollox

ScoobyStu 14-05-2013 12:00 PM

On the plus side lads, it is the Met office! If they told me it was raining, I'd still look out the window to check!!

Steve_PPP 14-05-2013 12:41 PM

I'll be bringing the SES gazebo with the sides as well just in case it tips it down, can put the sides on it and give us somewhere to shelter if we need it!

Hope the forecast changes though....

toying with the idea of a throw away bbq as a food option (to cook on before the funny comments). I assume we are in a field nearby and they won't be banned?:paranoid:

Anger 15-05-2013 08:41 AM

I wouldn't be surprised if there banned

Looked at the met office app again this morn and its now only 20% chance of rain and just overcast all day. Think ill go with stu's theory of look out the window that morn.

They do have some passes available where things haven't gone to plan, which they will hand out on the gat as long as they are expecting you.
Can you email Ross in the link above to confirm he got your payment and details.

Ok will do

Supercarsiege 16-05-2013 03:02 PM

Hi all,
We too have been refreshing the Metcheck window every 5 mins, bloody thing said 17 degrees and sunny all day last week, to 100% rain heavy showers 2 days ago to now showing as sunny in the morning and shower bursts in the afternoon! I gave up checking as it was causing chest pains :D

I am afraid due to the venue we are not allowed Gazebo's, club banners are allowed but no flag style ones.

It's a brave man who brings a BBQ, the tweed brigade will be on you in seconds :)

Jason is all sorted and his pass will be waiting for him on the gate.

Ross :yeah:

ScoobyStu 16-05-2013 04:28 PM

Good stuff Ross, thanks for the info!

Please please please x a billion let the weather be like this Saturday.....

:(

Hi Ross, thats a bit of a shame for the car clubs who want to bring a bit of branding to the event - we've got a logo'd gazebo and sail banners but no normal banners to use.

A case of health & safety mad Britain again i guess? nothing allowed that the wind can catch? Let just hope the sun is shining or there is alternative shelter should the rain come!

That is a shame as all the car clubs mini gazeebo's and flags really make the event look professional and enticing for people that may just be visiting the venue to see a castle, and happend to stumble onto a much larger event.

Without such things there is a danger it will just look like a car park and won't attract the interest (or charitable donations) that it deserves.

Rodregos 16-05-2013 06:38 PM

Supersiege has posted on Facebook the services we r meeting at as a location for all clubs going to meet. So I think it's gonna get very busy there.

Scott.T 16-05-2013 08:03 PM

A reminder as some people haven't seen it eh !! Steve

We should meet at J8 Services at 0830 for a 0840 (latest) departure, where the tickets will get dished out.

Although the 0840 departure is a goal as the service may be a little busy.

:kicknuts:

Hopefully a lot of the other car clubs will meet at 8 and have moved on to Leeds Castle by the time we arrive at the services then :ok:

stiggy 16-05-2013 08:54 PM

Steve: Can you bring along a Tax Disc holder for me on Sat please mate, also have you got any of the business card size SES advert cards?

Stickers and tax disc holders will be available from me on the day :)

We don't have any business cards/flyers for the club at the moment, although easily do-able (just not in time for this event...)

stiggy 16-05-2013 09:36 PM

Nice one, no worries about the cards just yet :-)

SpecB 17-05-2013 07:31 AM

Looking at the weather it's going to be dry but a bit chilly for BabyBlueBug and he's still a bit sniffly so were going to have to give this one a miss, it also gives me a day to get the car ready for the ring (I'm still on the tyres I did my first ring trip on!).

Have a good one guys

Have now, thanks to the wife for sorting something today. They're only knocked up but will do the job to put under wipers etc tomorrow for people to take if they're interested.
