Not a chance I'm afraid, too much going on and car not really ready for trackdays at the moment!

burble 01-08-2013 11:48 PM

Looks like there's gonna be 3 tea boys now! Will bring my helmet (ooo er) if there's a chance of riding shogun. See you all there. What time are you all planning on turning up?

Ps thanks to everyone that gave me advice on what exhaust system to put on my hawkeye. I went with the consensus & have fitted a vortex b/b & unresonated centre section. It brings a silly grin to my face everytime I start her up :)

Steve_PPP 03-08-2013 12:48 PM

For everyone going on circuit, don't forget to bring your towing eye that screws into the front bumper - Brands will want it fitted before you go out on track :ok:

Since when never have before?

Surely not for taster sessions :???:

Granby 03-08-2013 06:31 PM

Hope it stays dry for you all, may even drop down and say hello

When I last did Brands (it was the year after we had our big evening up there with the photo shoot) they stated during the briefing session that towing eyes must be fitted. I'd forgotten mine and it was questioned at the end of the pit lane when going out - they let me off luckily that time.

But I thought i'd mention it so nobody has the same hassle :)

I hope so - I haven't got a lot of tread on my rear AO48s which will make it interesting....

Your skill not a prob

Anger 03-08-2013 08:04 PM

Still undecided on warn R888's or New RSR's

Moley_WRX 03-08-2013 08:08 PM

New RSR's... then you can give me some feedback on them! Fancy a set myself.

Last time I did Brands they got funny about it, and made me remove my fog cover and fit the towing eye

Anger 03-08-2013 08:11 PM

Evo8's don't even come with anywhere for tow hooks

Steve_PPP 04-08-2013 09:32 AM

Just to add, please make sure you read the T&Cs section here (in case you skipped over it when booking ;))
http://www.clubmsv.com/car-trackday-regulations.aspx

It also contains details of how the evening will run - sign-on, briefings etc.

One noticeable point:
Quote:

All drivers and passengers must wear a suitable, correctly fitting crash helmet and have their legs covered at all times whilst on circuit. In the case of open top vehicles, drivers must wear full face helmets and also have arms covered at all times.
So no shorts.....

Best to bring the paper part of your driving license too, although i'm not 100% sure we'll need it. Video from cars is allowed for personal use, but mounts need to be bolted to the car - no suction mounts inside or outside of the vehicle.

iain85 04-08-2013 12:57 PM

So even for the 7pm session signing on still has to be at 4.30pm?

iain85 04-08-2013 12:58 PM

Also don't think I've got a towing eye? Shall I just play dumb ( comes naturally to me)

If push comes to shove I would think you could borrow one from someone that is not on track, the same time as you..

drakesnow 04-08-2013 01:59 PM

Hay Sam my friend and I are meeting at Polegate roundabout services at the big roundabout before heading up the A22 from there. Anyone else who wants to come ??! Thinking we meet and leave for 2 pm.

Previously I've not run with one at Brands - it hasn't been an issue before. It is best to have one though so that they can drag you out easily without strapping to something else which may be damaged. Also fair for everyone else so there's no hold ups. Or just make sure you don't go off...:ok:

Last time I was there watching my mate a guy was very unhappy as they'd towed his car off track and damaged they front, but he hadn't fitted a towing eye as he was told in the briefing, so it was just tough luck.

Hongkongfooi 04-08-2013 10:07 PM

hope you all have a great eve on track......hope the weather holds. See you tomorrow:ok:

Cheers

The weather is not looking as bad, lets hope the forecasters are wrong again..

The Handbrake 05-08-2013 01:23 AM

Silly as it maybe... is it worth me bringing a kettle, coffee, tea, milk etc for us all for use in the pits or is it not worth it/OTT?

That is entirely up to you.

But I am sure it will be very welcome, just so long as things don't get wasted..

Red Baron 05-08-2013 08:27 AM

Any idea what time it's all supposed to finish, may head up after work if I get home in time.

Shane

Think track time is meant to end at 19:40 :)

Anger 05-08-2013 08:47 AM

Sitting outside a tyre shop waiting for the lazy buggers to turn up, decided not to risk R888's today
