No problems Mike...i kind of hope the list doesn't change any more though!

I am sure there will be another one arranged at some stage in the future if you don't get to come on this one.:ok:

jay 19-07-2010 11:21 AM

I tell you what boys, we are going to have to get up early to get there for 9.00!!

I have had several jobs that way recently and to get past that damn tunnel means early bird!

Took me three hours the other day to get to J30.......total bummer!

Crowman 19-07-2010 12:20 PM

Directions
North Weald Airfield is off Junction 7 on the M11. Follow the signs for North Weald Market and this will take you straight to the airfield. There will be only 1 gate open on the day, next to the Air Traffic Control Tower. The person on the gate will direct you to where you will need to be.

Jay
You are correct mate, although its not far to the M11,it can honetsly take 2 hours easy.
Its a nightmare,if we leave at 6am we will all be there by 07.30 easy, yet if we leave at 7am its likely to make us late
I reckon leave early and get a coffe or something near J7 M11

Oh and Jay your car looked as fantastic as always yesterday:10:

Early it is then.......fuel up when near (us and the cars!)

worzel 19-07-2010 02:33 PM

Yep, up for the early start, get there, V-Power & Full English Breakfast power!

Hongkongfooi 25-07-2010 02:20 PM

I paid for the day today as per below to show I'm not fleecing you all!

It shows a one person booking but don't worry as that was how I was able to book for a group!

Tim,

Thank you for your payment. You are booked in for 15 Sep 2010 on a 1 Person Day
using your own car.

DIRECTIONS
North Weald Airfield is off Junction 7 on the M11. Follow the signs for North
Weald Market and this will take you straight to the airfield. There will be only
1 gate open on the day, next to the Air Traffic Control Tower. The person on the
gate will direct you to where you will need to be.

You will need to bring your driving licence with you on the day. There are food
facilities located on the airfield. The day will begin at 9.00am and finish at
approximately 4.00pm. Spectators are allowed onto the airfield but there are no
facilities for them to sit and watch.

Please note that as your vehicle will be cornering at speed, you may need to
inflate your tyres more than you would normally. Vehicles such as the Lotus
Elise, Caterham etc are usually ok as they are lightweight and designed for high
speed cornering, but cars such as Subaru Imprezas, Porsches, Madzas, TVRs etc
are recommended to inflate their tyres to the maximum stated on the tyre itself
to protect the side wall of the tyre. There is a garage just off the M11
roundabout (on the A414 towards Harlow) where you can do this before the event.
We usually have a tyre pressure gauge so that you can decrease the tyres before
your journey home!

ITINERARY

09.00am
Meet on the airfield. Once most people have arrived there will be a briefing by
the instructor.

9.30am - 4.00pm
A large group day with the following activities;
High speed bend.
Small circuit.
Medium Circuit
Sprint Circuit included weather/time permitting

Lunch will be at the restaurant, at around 12:00pm.

bob'5 14-09-2010 01:09 AM

Just stumbled across this by chance.

If there is still a space open give me a call on my mobile ********* in the morning first thing. Only about 40 miles away but you'll need to let me know as early as you can.

SpecB 14-09-2010 07:00 AM

Hope you guys have a good one - just arrange the next one for a weekend/school holiday will ya!

Steve_PPP 14-09-2010 08:26 AM

so guys, what time do you think we should all meet at Lakeside services? Google maps is saying its a half hour drive from there to the airfield, but with rush hour traffic it might take up to an hour.

Breakfast at Lakeside or somewhere near the airfield?

Lakeside sounds good Steve.

30 mins from Lakeside ? thought it would have been longer than that?

Hongkongfooi 14-09-2010 10:22 AM

I am leaving at 6 to aim to get to Lakeside services by 7.30

They never mentioned a restaurant when I spoke to them....either way food is within a mile at most even if it is from the golden arches of maccy d's!
Lets hope the weather holds!

Steve_PPP 14-09-2010 10:31 AM

OK, i'm going to aim to get to Lakeside services at 7:15am to give me a chance to grab some breakfast there before heading up to the airfield.

If it rains it might make it more fun :D
