Spent today giving the car a good clean ready for Supercar Siege (well, until it started to rain....) as it'd not been washed for over a month. Brakes and front wheels were pretty filthy from use at Goodwood :(

http://www.southeastscoobies.co.uk/v...ps9a4dea95.jpg

Used it as a chance to take all the wheels off and give the arches a good scrub off too. Looking much cleaner now :)

http://www.southeastscoobies.co.uk/v...ps2ac1cc44.jpg

Hopefully it'll stay dry this weekend as i doubt i'll have time to wash it again before Germany on the friday.

Certainly looking forward to getting out the Greg, counting the days! 12 to go! :drive:

I noticed when i last had the wheels off the car for a big clean (before Supercar Siege) that the paint on the wheels wasn't in good shape. Lots of flaking and the rain at Goodwood had got underneath and made it worse. All of the wheels had bits like this :(

http://www.southeastscoobies.co.uk/v...ps83eace4e.jpg

http://www.southeastscoobies.co.uk/v...psbbf88d23.jpg

They got a very quick coat of gunmetal from a rattle can over the top, then a heavy coat of lacquer to form a temporary seal and that had to do for Supercar Siege and Germany.

So last week finally got the refurb sorted. Thanks to CJ for the free lend of a set of 18"s and got mine refurbed by WheelWorksUK in Crawley. Really pleased with the finish :)

Really like those wheels mate, suit the bug perfectly!

Nice snaps too.

Steve_PPP 28-09-2013 05:54 PM

Nothings really changed on the car since Germany, other than I now require some new front droplinks as Germany and Brands more recently has killed them and the bushes are all split. Easy fix though :)

Over the last month (when i get a free hour or so) i've been working my way round the car panel by panel - wash, clay, and re-wax. Finished the wheels off last weekend and a few last minute bits today so its ready for Modified Live tomorrow. Arches all cleaned, interior hoovered, wheels were even removed, clayed and sealed.

Shiny :)

It better stay dry on the drive to Brands tomorrow morning!

Very nice Steve!! Did you use anything particular for the arches??

Ginola 29-09-2013 10:45 PM

Really do like the shiny on the inside paint job you have had done to the rims Steve,

Thinking about getting the same done.

EXEVO3 30-09-2013 08:25 AM

mint...love the brake kit mate....she stops!!!

Steve_PPP 14-05-2014 06:55 PM

Been quite a while since this was updated, but the car is now ready for Germany again :)

New droplinks fitted last month and geo re-done as it was surprisingly far out, just from pot-holes in our crappy roads i guess. Track day at Goodwood in April identified that one of the rear calipers had a sticky piston, plus the discs/pads were pretty old so time for a rear brake refresh.

Rear brembos sourced from JPP, plus pagid discs and PFC-08 pads from Alyn. All fitted today at SMD :)

http://www.southeastscoobies.co.uk/v...ps2htcf4iq.jpg

Car even got a wash this afternoon so nice and clean for Supercar Seige!

Scooby_Greg 14-05-2014 07:08 PM

Look very nice Steve. Hopefully your ring passenger will appreciate them too....

I will be, but just haven't had the time to yet and need the car fixed for the weekend. After Germany i expect i'll take them back off and paint them black.

Tried to find some rear brembos off a hatch as they're black already but they're rocking horse poo as not many hatches being broken.....

Danwrx 14-05-2014 09:33 PM

Just read through this thread and all I can say is "WOW" lovely car mate, obviously well looked after and I'm looking forward to seeing it in the flesh on Sunday.
Well done
Dan

Ginola 14-05-2014 09:35 PM

Looking good! What did Alyn say about bedding in the 08s on the rear? ;)

He didn't.... i'm going to just do normal road miles at first as the discs are brand new. I'll then do some bigger stops to put a heat cycle through the pads and see what's what.

thepieman 15-05-2014 11:14 AM

great to know its going with rear brakes:nod:

hope they bed in better than the Pagid's on the Forester!!!! the constant low speed squeak is doing our heads in!!! M.O.T. soon so probably try and sort the problem or change them:doh:

Rdlangy1 15-05-2014 12:03 PM

Thanks mate.

Its not quite as mint as it looks in a lot of the photos, as its done 91k and a fair few track miles. It certainly gets well used :)

Generally the paintwork is excellent, but the front end needs a respray at some point as the stonechips are everywhere.

Red Baron 15-05-2014 12:28 PM

Have you fitted it with the Optional Subaru Mouse Traps yet :)

It was a big rat living in the engine bay over the winter, think the optional mouse traps will be too small!

That'll teach me to park it up in a farmyard barn for 3 months whilst moving house

scotty 15-05-2014 04:33 PM

Steve just notice you a running ksport on the front are they 330mm discs as the look massive .

356mm 8 pot kit :)

scotty 15-05-2014 06:27 PM

Thanks Steve they should fit nicely on my classic under the 18"s was looking at the 330 ksport kit .

Scott.T 15-05-2014 08:30 PM

Brembo's looking good.
Did you go oversized shoes in the end ? or sleeved ?

Steve_PPP 15-05-2014 09:08 PM

Oversized shoes from Alyn. Handbrake seems fine at the moment, so we'll see how we get on with it....

Only issue we had was that I picked the cleanest set of brembos off the shelf at JPP and they must have been off a hawkeye that originally had the extra plate with the rubber things on it - noise/rattle absorbtion?

http://thumbs2.ebaystatic.com/d/l225...bOy7dYFVwA.jpg

If you try to fit them without this, the original caliper bolts just touch on the rear of the disc  Easily fixed with an extra washer though ;)

The_blue_knight 24-05-2014 03:40 PM

Hey looks great! Could you please tell me the colour name and the colour code? It's on the vin plate I hope. I had mine repainted the same but colour as yours, but I need a touch up. Thanks

Steve_PPP 28-05-2014 02:03 PM

New rear brakes certainly work well, car feels much more stable on heavy stopping and there's less nose-dive going on. But as everyone on the Ring trip knows, the PFC-08 pads squeal like a pig!

Oversized handbrake shoes seems to work OK under normal conditions. However, after track work when the disc/hub is very hot, the handbrake is pretty much non-existant. Thanks to ScoobySi for lending me a wheel chock for most of the trip! :ok:

Colour is 02c (WR Blue). :)

Steve_PPP 17-07-2014 04:34 PM

Was looking through this thread and thought i'd update the old list from a few years ago...

- PPP (well, it was....)
- Full decat (uppipe, downpipe and midpipe)
- Scott remap :ok:
- De-resonated centre section
- Tornado2 (scoobyworld - H&S rebranded) backbox
- Earthing kit
- STI tmic
- Walbro 255
- STI strut brace
- Ksport 8pot 356mm front brake kit with bluestuff NDX pads
- Rear brembo conversion with Pagid discs and PFC-08 pads

- KYB Ultra SR shocks
- Prodrive springs
- 24mm rear Whiteline ARB
- Whiteline solid droplinks front/back

- Morettes with HID kit
- Orciari Fog covers
- Blob STi skirts
- Subaru genuine splitter
- STI7 interior
- Subaru rear bumper extensions/diffuser.
- 18" Ultralite Atec's refurbed in gunmetal
- STI7 scoop & undertray
- Blobeye rear lights
- STI8 rear spoiler
- Debadged bootlid
- Zunsport upper/lower grille.

Car did a great job in Germany again this year, got my target of a sub-9 minute lap so happy with that.

Looks like the front diff has gone (getting some funny noises) so the gearbox is the next thing on the list to fix. MOT on Saturday morning too....

Lucky 17-07-2014 04:50 PM

Cool. Often wondered exactly what was done, quite scary when you add it all up.

oldskool 17-07-2014 07:41 PM

Its such a gorgeous car ! All those ingredients added up to a great recipe

Scott.T 17-07-2014 09:16 PM

Quite a cheap effective modification on the rear brakes that brembo conversation !!!!

I'm just off outside to have a chat with my turbo.

Rdlangy1 18-07-2014 09:20 AM

loving this !
