Cars filled up with fuel and looking all shiny ready for the run down. Shame it won't look any good time I get to the services.

Should be quite an entertaining day if its a tad wet.

GB270Adam 12-04-2013 06:49 PM

Am looking forward to seeing you guys spank some TVR's  probably won't be there in time for the one dry session as will be watching the F1 qualifying, shall be down asap after that, see you guys tomorrow morning.

Ginola 12-04-2013 07:37 PM

The organisers have put us all in one group which makes things a little tricky/entertaining.
It also gives us less scoobies to watch in between our own sessions :(

I have managed to come up with a roster that may work and having just got off the phone to them, there may be some flexibility depending on noise levels.

Tim.....If you find Steve Shaw after lunch he may be able to get you in an earlier afternoon group, so that you don't have to hang around until 14:30

0800
Arrival and Noise Testing
First 3 Grids will be nominated in advance for priority testing. Noise limit is 105db. No refunds.

0845
Briefing and Sign On
Noise testing will resume on completion

0900
Track familiarisation – all cars participating will be required to be led for 3 laps behind a pace car to make the optimum use of their track time Emphasis will be on lines and turn-in points

WE ARE GROUP No.4
1st morning session (10:00 am approx)
Steve Gates
Greg Sinden
Ian Pain
Charlie Pollen
Chris Grinstead

2nd morning session (11:00 am approx)
Nick Elliman

Duncan Izzard
Charlie Pollen
Chris Grinstead

3rd Morning Session (12:00 am approx)
Scott Taylor
Steve Hewitt
Greg Sinden
Charlie Pollen
Chris Grinstead

1st afternoon session (14:30 approx)
Tim Critchlow
Simon MacDonald
Ian Pain
Charlie Pollen
Chris Grinstead

2nd afternoon session (15:30 approx)

Steve Gates
Charlie Pollen
Chris Grinstead

3rd afternoon Session (16:30 approx)

Simon MacDonald
Duncan Izzard

The organisers also hope to increase it to 8 sessions, so anyone still around may get a Bonus round....... ;)

No, not me - I'll be in the M3

Steve_PPP 12-04-2013 08:52 PM

Cool. Would have been fun mixing it with the TVRs (especially in the wet!) but never mind :)

Scott.T 12-04-2013 08:58 PM

I've managed to borrow 2 GoPro if anyone wants me to stick one in the car.
I aim to run both while I'm out, front and rear view.

How strict do you think they'll be Scott? I'd like to fit mine too. Haven't tried it yet

I would hope they will be OK with them in the car, as I had my phone doing the same last time.
They will probably only let them go on the exterior if they are clamped to something rather then stuck or suckered.

Lucky 12-04-2013 09:26 PM

Have fun guys, I am now working :sadno:

Could I borrow for the morning session please? :) Will be plenty of time to swap them back before your first session :ok:

And we're both in the same session in the afternoon so hopefully i can queue behind you in the pit and we'll get some good footage on track from your rear view :D ;)

Hongkongfooi 12-04-2013 10:36 PM

Managed to get a few laps in Steve. The car went very well. Didn't feel as planted as the last time I was there, but that was due to the tyres. The scoobs were running very well and it was good to see everyone there. Shame you couldn't make it this time.

ScoobyStu 13-04-2013 03:32 PM

Good to see you all and meet a few more of the SES faithful. Sorry I didn't get a chance to say bye to you all. Hope you enjoyed the rest of your day and get home safely :-)

BIG"E" 13-04-2013 03:42 PM

THANKS TO SILVERSURFER for organising today's event..

GB270Adam 13-04-2013 05:03 PM

555_Si 13-04-2013 05:18 PM

Thanks Scott for organising had a great time, good to see everyone.

got some wet weather confidence back in me now. was just starting to get the hang of things until i lost all boost on second session, never mind.

Steve_PPP 13-04-2013 07:47 PM

What an afternoon, was definitely AWD weather.

Huge thanks to Scott for the effort on this event, just a shame you didn't get a chance to get out there before the rain mate :(

Really enjoyed it in the wet :ok:

Charlie 13-04-2013 08:01 PM

Big thank you to silver surfer for organising the event.

Was a wicked day despite the weather,
Great to meet everyone again , real friendly bunch.
Just looking forward to the next event Ses event and hope it stays dry!

Scott.T 13-04-2013 08:54 PM

Cheers for the comments guy's. I 'WILL' be trying to organise another.....

Not sure if I regret not taking mine out or am relieved I didn't take it out.

Oliver was getting soaked and cold and couldn't take on his normal snapper role, so was also getting bored sheltering from the rain.
I really haven't driven my car enough since getting it back to have confidence driving it hard for prolonged periods (too busy sorting out everyone else's cars) let alone chucking it about on a slippery wet track. So I think I made the right choice.

Glad you guy's managed to get a few more laps in the afternoon and kept it safe.
Did the TVR boyz manage to keep it on the island in the afternoon ?

Don't think they had any more offs after the couple around lunch time.

The conditions in some places were awful for rear wheel drive, Dave and I couldn't help but laugh at one of the guys trying to get his mx5 round Lavent, every time he touched the throttle the back went  Went and had a good chat with him afterwards, decent bloke and he was with the TVR gang who had exactly the same problem.

Was good fun watching some of the other cars and having a play. Went out for a session (with Rich) as lead car from pit lane, we went round and overtook 4 of the other 5 cars out there within the 5 laps

That was pretty awesome and you did very well considering the conditions. Must admit i did have sweaty palms for the first few laps as we blasted PAST the brake signs at full tilt. Lol

Just wished it had stayed dryer for c.j as his car from the pits in the dry was savage.

Must get my little classic out on track on the next day out.

Hope they didn't smack their cars up too bad. Assuming it was a few TVR's mate?

Yes, both were TVRs. One was apparently only a light bump with the tyre wall, but the other was pretty heavy into the tyres backwards. Being fibre-glass, the rear bodywork all broke/snapped rather than bent, looked like a near rear end on it needed:(
