Steve_PPP 09-04-2010 09:15 PM

looking good mate, bet you can't wait to start putting it all back together now!

2-jaffacake-tone 10-04-2010 10:22 PM

so today the plan was to sprip down the suspension right down the the hubs replace bearings if needed clean and paint (thanks stiggy)

i started on the rear to find that the new rear brakes wont fit on my rear hubs :( so need to sort diffrent hubs out :(

so i thought i would get on with the fronts untill the driveshaft wouldnt come out of the hub , so had to give it a bit of persuasion (over 10 tones!) but it came out. so they got cleaned up and painted .
also made a start on removing glass and door handles, to swap to fiberslass doors

Nige 12-05-2010 04:27 PM

Perspex windows, fiberglass doors, with you built like a racing whippet 600+bhp. Will this thing stay on the tarmac? As most of the fast cars have names i think we should start a thread on Jaffas car. I think a good one would be The JAFFA imaginative eh :norty:. With a badge on the boot saying you have just been Jafferd :10:

worzel 12-05-2010 04:33 PM

Clockwork Jaffa

Crowman 13-05-2010 10:12 AM

Great work Tone.
There was a carbon prop shaft on piston heads the other week, might be worth a look, as your going lightweight.

He knew that the more you rubbed off the easier it would be to cut

2-jaffacake-tone 14-05-2010 06:55 PM

Lmao sorry dyney ;)

picked up inlet manafold witch has had wedge welded on

http://i162.photobucket.com/albums/t...e/edc3758a.jpg

Nick 14-05-2010 08:47 PM

whats the wedge for?

2-jaffacake-tone 15-05-2010 05:39 PM

hi nick, the wedge is used because i am turning the inlet manafold round so the throttle body faces the front the wedge is used to to i have more clearance away from the bonnet with the front mount pipe work :)

the picture dosent show clearly that its wedged.

tone

Jolly Green Monster 15-05-2010 11:20 PM

nice work

if you are intending running a standard idle valve you might need to cut some of the bonnet for clearance.

Simon ;)

2-jaffacake-tone 16-05-2010 12:15 AM

Cheers si, I have de-skined an aly bonnet, I also plan to heat up the outlet on the icv and rotate it down slightly, I think things are going to be tight as I plan on useing manafold spacers. Is there a limiting factor useing a ph1.5 manafold as the pelum is quite small.

Jolly Green Monster 16-05-2010 12:27 AM

if too tight just remove ICV and blank it off.. I am not using one at the moment although fitted to block the hole.. not had time to sort.

yes pelum could be an issue.. the cossie one does appear to work very well.. I am using a version 1 widdenned (bigger still pelum) and adaptors to fit my v6 heads.. whcih appears to work as well as a cossie manifold.

Simon
