I do now I have googled his name.

A poor unfortunate that suffered from cerebral palsy.

Joseph John "Joey" Deacon (24 May 1920 - 3 December 1981) was a British author and television personality

worzel 08-09-2010 04:09 PM

And someone who unfortunately everyone took the piss out of in the 70's at school.

He was part of a Blue Peter appeal.

It was the done thing to call someone a "Joey".

He was assisted by some random bloke (whose name escapes me) that was a Bernard Breslaw double, who could "understand" what Joey was saying :getmecoat:

scooby999 08-09-2010 04:12 PM

everyone was getting called joey deacon back in the 70's ,I think he first came to light on Blue Peter
