Kerstin.......... when they strap a car onto the rollers using the canvas straps that crank up tight the have two at the front of the car & two at the back.

They cross the straps at the rear and at the front however when they crossed the front straps they were rubbing tight on braided hoses I have coming out the sump ( at the bottom of the engine), so they decided not to cross the front straps. Instead the front straps came out straight.

When the driver put my car in 1st gear the car pulled to the right VERY nearly sliding off the front roller.

If it would have happened at 8000 rpm in 4th gear it would have been a nightmare. The guys were on the case and done a good job as they took their time and rerouted the straps.

OMG, it's just relieving to know everything went well!! That would have been a right nightmare.

Afternoon guys,

Really great to see you all at the open day. Glad everyone had such a good time. It was nice to meet you all - plenty of new faces and some awesome cars

Keep in touch if you want anything and we'll do whatever we can. And as Scott mentioned, hopefully we can get something going with a rolling road day in the future.

We've put a bit up on our website about the day. Link is here: http://www.sumopower.com/News/50/Hug...-at-Sumo-Power

Easy to see as peak will have moved on the power by same amount.

Peak power:
@ JRM = 365.5 @ 6350
@ SRR = 349.9 @ 6300

Not really that different, especially allowing for graph reading errors.

C. J. 21-02-2012 06:12 PM

Think you have a header leak then nick !

Jolly Green Monster 21-02-2012 06:21 PM

Shoukd be obvious if a leak.

Could be just the way the dyno loads the car.

You scanned the graphs yet?

Maybe the dumping of coolant at SRR put a latent defect in them, becoming worse in the time between RR's

Jolly Green Monster 21-02-2012 09:18 PM

stadnard headers.. I think they get used to water soaking when you drive through puddles ;)

plus the leak wasnt that bad

oh!, thought he had tubulars of something.

Jolly Green Monster 21-02-2012 09:41 PM

You'd think so with the poweroutput.

Also never seen an issue driving through floods with wrapped after market headers other than having to wait for the steam to clear when stopping before being able to see if road is clear lol.

SpecB 22-02-2012 06:31 AM

Pretty sure there's no header leak - certainly doesn't feel/sound like one and with power being pretty much the same and at the same point surely I'd see a difference there as well?

Plan is to go tubular and probably de-cat as well, I'd like to de-cat first just to see how much of a restriction the sports cat is but not interested enough to have to have 2 remaps!

SeanMcKnetic 25-02-2012 07:26 PM

We strapped the Surrey Scoobies GoPro to the Stormtrooper and got some convoy footage. It was obviously much longer so I've had to crop it right down when editing it. It was a bit of a nightmare to edit despite how simple iMovie is supposed to be.

Somehow I've left out the key scene of the queue of cars turning right into SUMO's forecourt. My apologies...
