Exactly that:ok: it has remote locking/unlocking on the master key as standard but required a CAT1 alarm/immobiliser when entering/registering in the UK

All the innards of the fob seemed ok and the fob was working but was all taped up, nice new casing acquired and innards swapped over... Job done:ok:

SpecB 07-07-2013 05:08 PM

Really should clean both mine, but it's too hot!

Now booked in to Roger Clark towards the end of the month for a service and health check.

Following on from Rich's main dealer service schedule its now due (overdue by date) a 100k service:shock: Will have only covered approx 2k since the last one though, so all should be good.

Whats the betting a new rear arb goes on to replace the flakey whiteline one:whistle:

Cheers Phil, all down to the previous owner:five: all i've done is start to clean it:polish: Its a cracking piece of kit, if its a box ticking exercise? it does very well indeed One of those cars that I honestly wish I had got earlier.

Forgot to update! Service went well at RCM, top job as always and a great day out, would recommend them to anyone. Everyone seemed to like the FSTi, especially Matt who actualy commented that "thats a bit of me that is, I really like that":more: I was surprised just how much he liked it:shock:

Huge thanks to everyone at RCM as always.. No new rear ARB as they didn't have one on the shelf but, one is being found to suit the setup, along with some RCM floor mats made to fit:smile:

Thanks for all the comments:thanx:

thepieman 23-02-2014 04:11 PM

Well, its been a good few months of ownership under the belt and what can be said about the FSTi?

In truth........ Rich must really miss this car:nod: its been faultless as a daily driver and as expected (the reason it was purchased) he really did put together a stunning all rounder....credit where its due:thumbup:

so, some small updates.....

Had some small vibration under braking and after investigation it has been necessary to change the front discs and pads..... so a quick trip up to RCM and some new grooved / dimpled discs and pagid blue's soon sorted the problem

http://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a2...ps6e6c2955.jpg

only fitting that the rears had to match:thumbup: so the same was fitted at the rear

http://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a2...ps78a99374.jpg

With the recent weather highlighting some aquaplaning on the local roads (tyres nearing replacement limit anyway) and the finish on the old black wheels starting to look past its best, the choice was new rubber and a refurb or new rubber and wheels:shrug: the latter won and following a quick call to Keith @ revolution the postie dropped off some new alloys / tyres:)

Went for flat silver finish to contrast the roof rails and rear hatch trim with a slighlty more aggressive fitment option to try and compliment the car more....... hopefuly its worked

http://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a2...psd2701f99.jpg

http://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a2...ps5aa732b5.jpg

http://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a2...ps3f162caa.jpg

can't recommend an FSTi enough to anyone thinking or needing to go down this route........absolutely brilliant cars

Scooby_Greg 23-02-2014 05:38 PM

They virtually do as it goes. The Forester Cross Sport.

It's got many of the FSTi features and an auto box. It's a JDM model, but pretty rare in the UK, but I have seen them over here.

Sorry for the tangent to the main thread!

No apology necessary, thats how threads and information progresses:five:

Indeed, was thinking I'd seen an auto box STi previously listed on the auction sites (you can get an earlier type with one? the STi II typeM IIRC) but it was possibly a cross sports...

Banstead Stig 27-02-2014 09:00 PM

The SF versions of the STi were basically s/tb's with trinkets as far as I am aware, i.e. the engine was the same, but the bodykit and interior differed

There was an auto and manual version, with the "M" denoting manual.

:geek:

ralliart didz 27-02-2014 09:34 PM

don't like the look of the cross sport STIG only rons model forester. just shame no auto boxes.ill just have too stay on the darkside and keep an eye out for one of these. http://www.goo-net-exchange.com/used...001/index.html

thepieman 27-02-2014 10:09 PM

That's a good alternative didz, liking the look of that myself....

Really? The facelift SG Cross Sport is virtually identical to the STi, with the auto box.

As to the Evo wagon, I almost bought one rather than a FSTi but, somewhat ironically given what you're after, it was an auto and I wanted a manual. They're rare and my FSTi came up first, so I bought that!

Edit: just seen JPP in Crawley have a Evo wagon that appears to be their latest project.

ralliart didz 27-02-2014 11:49 PM

wow thanks STIG  I thought it was the new suv model. I thought the 2.5 xt was the only nearest one too the sti. didn't no about this one and its a 2.0L not the chocolate 2.5L. I will look in too the differences between that an the sti model. thank you.
