if some work comes in then it'll me booked

Steve_PPP 10-06-2010 09:10 PM

would come along too, last time was awesome fun. but i think i'll save my next time until after the driver training course - its too expensive to do them too often!

in the meantime, i can keep my eyes open for a cheap set of alloys i can bung some track rubber on :)

I too was thinking about the spare wheels....I might know where to go for these!

SpecB 11-06-2010 06:51 AM

I would but the car will most likely not be ready by then and definitely not run in enough for track work.

C. J. 11-06-2010 09:03 AM

Have some sti 8 alloys for sale

Chunk 11-06-2010 12:35 PM

thought they sold?

how cheap? ;) and what rubber is on them, condition etc?

don't want to spend much on alloys as i've got my wrx alloys i could put fresh rubber on, but i think a couple of them might be slightly egg shaped lol

Haven't done a track day for years, but If you "novices" can give a real novice a wide birth, I'm tempted to book up, and stretch the legs of the old girl Saab and see how it performs on a track.

worzel 16-06-2010 12:29 PM

Man this is tempting

If my FMIC is here, fitted and mapped in time, then I will book it too. :ok:

we knew you'd give in and get one eventually ;)

worzel 16-06-2010 12:41 PM

Had some "breathing issues" coming back from the ring when I was over 130mph, so just another safety thing more than anything.

Steve_PPP 16-06-2010 12:45 PM

Know what you mean, i've only got a little scoop and no means of measuring the intercooler/intake temperatures so was just hoping for the best at 140mph :(

Just had to avoid any long runs at over 120 or so - was a case of quick blat, then back down to 80/90 for a while to cool down.

FMIC makes sense!

worzel 16-06-2010 12:49 PM

I did exactly the same thing. I had about 4 or 5 proper blats the whole weekend, then backed right down, just because of it.

I have been told that mine should be fine, but after the crap I went through, I won't chance it for the sake of a FMIC and a map tinker.

Have you thought about changing your scoop?

C. J. 16-06-2010 01:28 PM

Think your be surprized at power gain & torque once mapped in

Would do the same but i've got a all-day meeting on Tuesday i can't get out of.

hope you guys have a good afternoon :)

Anger 23-07-2010 02:51 PM

Me lol

RobEvo5 23-07-2010 04:05 PM

I considered a late booking but all sold out now :(

I need to get my hands on a spare set of alloys/tyres before booking up a track event really. So always another day. But my intention is to use my current scoob as a daily hack and get some track action in with it, so might see you guys at some coming events.

Moley_WRX 23-07-2010 04:39 PM

I am going down, but only watching.

Don't want to put the new one on the track yet, and don't want to kill the old one now that most parts are already sold!!!

Greig 25-07-2010 10:00 PM

Well be there early too:yeah:

DukeBoy 26-07-2010 07:05 PM

Looks like i won't be getting a layin then!!!

Moley_WRX 26-07-2010 08:19 PM

Track cover is sorted Angus.

Will be there at lunchtime (for some Brands Hatch cheesy chips and burger!!!)

Nige 26-07-2010 08:35 PM

Oi dont come & put the pressure on. MY other half gets scared at anything over 70mph. So i reckon she will only want to do a couple of laps. Once she's out I'm off for a proper blat. Paul Egerton {jaffa's mate} will be there in his Evo on the A.M session. Should be a giggle :drive:

Nige 26-07-2010 08:37 PM

[QUOTE=Anger;56882]I'll be there for the morning to watch Nigel fall off :)

Crowman 26-07-2010 09:08 PM

I hope Nige doesn't fall off with me in there, do evos go quick enough to fall off?

Anger 26-07-2010 09:16 PM

BIG"E" 26-07-2010 09:39 PM
