Nothing wrong with the Cooper reverse rims and the Mountney 10" steering wheel, no excuse for that hair though.

I think some of us have to go through the badly modified car stage before we get to the proper car stage, or can at least afford the proper car insurance!

I have no pics of my modded cars, just a couple of my later ones. My first car was a MK1 Chinquecento Sporting on lowered springs and 13 inch TSW alloys, my second car was the bad modded one, a 1.2 MK2 Punto Sporting with 17's, full body kit, lowering springs and a Longlife stainless exhaust, two twin pipes, all on a yellow car at that!

I think he may of had a bang to the head since, or been to Bad Taste Anonymous sessions..

555_Si 03-03-2016 07:11 PM

Lifes too short to list my previous ones, just the current ones would be enough.

Some of my old ones ;) There are quite a few others in-between and even before the Astra!, but these are ones that stick in my mind/memorable

Mk1 astra 1300 with kent cam, webber 40s and big exhaust 60mm suspension drop on spax springs, full SR body kit, nova SR seats and sun visors, Cavalier SRI wheels, big rev counter on the side of the dash! reved to 8k! it went like stink too! brakes where shocking :P (not helped by the monsterous sound system in the boot weighing it all down..
Please excuse my old friend Shaun on his Honda/rover hybrid.
http://i1192.photobucket.com/albums/...psl3njz3sm.jpg

more recent? 12 years back? 140bhp/250lb/ft 2.0 hdi (chipped /interwarmer upgrade) green stuff pads and groved discs!) still had a silly sound system ;)
http://i1192.photobucket.com/albums/...pscfi5oyex.jpg

http://i1192.photobucket.com/albums/...ps6egicjbd.jpg

and more recently still...
Miss this one quite a bit :)

Loving the Mitsubishi :ok:

Red Baron 03-03-2016 08:35 PM

I had a Mk1 Astra 1.6 EXP-S, looked like an SR but had a 4 speed box and no Recaros, bloody thing was rot as a pear, leaked like a sieve and the wetter it got the more it smelt of dogs, sure it must have been used as the official transport vehicle for Crufts for about 10 years before I bought it. Remember pulling away from some lights one day and the front seat mountings pulled out of the floor, if I hadn't had hold of the steering wheel I'd have ended up in the back seat.

Blimey, that Corsa is quite something.

I'd never really modified anything before the FSTi and even that has only very subtle, minor changes.

My 205XS did have a GTi exhaust, so maybe that counts. :D

I best not mention the full blue LED ground light kit, or knight rider scanning front grill lights or blue flashing led headlights that were all active when the alarm was activated then :getmecoat::getmecoat:

Mine never looked this good, just read the sales brochure and they boast about it having a passenger door mirror and "low profile" 185/60/14 tyres

My Dad had a dark purple Galant Sport estate, which was a great car.

Coincidentally, his was from a garage over Reading way.

The owner had a 6R4 Metro in his personal collection, which Ayrton Senna drove on the Welsh rally stages. We had a bloody good nose about at that!

My 3.2 Quattro sport I had before the Impreza, only subtly modified.

I wish I had a picture of my old Golf, 1990 White 3 dr Gti MKII with SWG deep grille spoiler and 2 light 3 bar grille, SWG deep rear spoiler its HL brake light and lay flat rear wiper.

I had a full Koni/Eibach suspension setup with Eibach front strut brace and Eibarh ARB's, Longlife custom stainless exhaust and 16' BBS RX alloys.

I also had a full Ice install with Rockford Fosgate Speakers in the Audio scape pods with a JL Audio Sub all running from A JL Amp and a Nakaminchi H/U.

The engine was a 2.0 Block with 8V heads and Neumann camshaft - I also had G60 brakes all round and a full lather re-trim.

Can't believe I traded it in for £500 against the Impreza!

jonnyricer5 06-03-2016 10:14 PM

Timmy I recognise that black v3 sti she was a great car used as my wedding car.

iPond 08-03-2016 12:23 PM

Cool thread this and some nice motors posted above.

My journey began with this bad boy. Not much done to it as it was my first car and insurance on a 1.6 was harsh. Kept to rims and ice....

http://i1282.photobucket.com/albums/...ps7b41e2cc.jpg

Next up was the starbo, 1.3 Turbo with a fair few mods and completely stripped out inside. Ran about 180bhp and weighed next to nothing...

http://i1282.photobucket.com/albums/...psa3d54043.jpg

MR2 turbo followed, this had a fair bit done to it as well and imo looked the nuts...

http://i1282.photobucket.com/albums/...ps8bc6802d.jpg

http://i1282.photobucket.com/albums/...psfa1fe5bc.jpg

http://i1282.photobucket.com/albums/...ps3cd96995.jpg

Then it was scoob no.1 (although not technically a previous as I still have it!)...

http://i1282.photobucket.com/albums/...psygiunjw0.jpg

And alongside scoob no.2 I have this as my daily hack. Not (yet) modded and not a previous either but a good little fun motor...

http://i1282.photobucket.com/albums/...psefbfac5a.jpg

Loving the MR2 !!! looks amazing...
Scoob is awesome as well :ok:

My old Mini Cooper SPI... god I miss this thing.

It had a full Maniflow exhaust system, sounded awesome. (Edited to add second pic) That just had a Fletcher rear box at that point.

Thanks :) I'd get another Mini instantly if I could, they're such a laugh.

One day!

I'd love an original Mini that didn't need welding back together again every other again.

Especially later Rover Minis, like my one. Rover would leave the shells outdoors unprotected and would rust before they're even built.

My Cooper was doing it's best Flintstones car impression, too! A new floor panel was the last thing I did too it.
