Tyres

225/40/18 tyres would they fit on a classic cant remember what size i was running on my last classic positive it was that size as the prices of tyres are cheaper than 215/35/18 .

Pretty sure they will rub, Scott T is the man to tell you though.

Found some sticky rubber in 225/35/18 they should be a better option .

225/40/18 rub on my rb5 on et48 7.5" (i think) at standard height since i fitted newage sti rear discs when going over bumps.

scotty 05-10-2016 06:04 PM

Is it the sidewall of the tyre that is rubbing simon .

Scott.T 05-10-2016 06:59 PM

215/35 on an 18 is the norm.
225/35 on an 18 your ET needs to be greater than 51

scotty 05-10-2016 07:18 PM

On et does smaller the number does that mean its greater

Scott.T 05-10-2016 07:31 PM

Smaller means it will stick out more and more likely to rub

scotty 05-10-2016 07:38 PM

Thanks that makes sense oh well 215 it is then again .

555_Si 05-10-2016 09:54 PM

On mine it is the corner of the tyre that rubs currently, because of issues and lack of wheels and tyre combinations that fit over brembos i have decided a slightly different path.

What surprised me was everything was ok until i did brembo conversion on rear, the discs must alter the offset ever so slightly.

Time to buy tyres for the beemer wtf is it with this car :splat::lol:narrowed it down to Avon ZZ5 or Rainsport 3 to good tyre choice that has superb grip in the wet aswell as dry grip .

Just got 4x Goodyear Eagle F1 assy 3's in 225/40/18 with rim protectors from blackcircles for £303 which I didnt think was too bad. Could be another option? But I take it the rears on the Beemer to be quite wide?
