K&N High Flow Air Filter

K&N say that fitting their High Flow Air Filter to a stick 2016 STi will increase horsepower by 34. Seems to good to be true. Anyone have anymore information or opinions.

Too good to be true.
Lucky to get 34Hp from a remap on the 2016 STi

Testing I did with a K&N on my Cupra gave lower airflow reading than the standard paper filter

Thought it was too good to be true and was hoping you would reply, thanks Scott.

It should of probably been quoted as 3-4hp not 34hp
If you say it with a French accent it sounds the same ;)

Lol. Probably that though as Scott says.

be very suprised if K&N themselves claim that??

have dealt with them for 20years or so and never heard of anything similar??

Frenchie 06-03-2020 06:10 PM

Info came from K&N filters .com, which must be their own website.

the .com is the Yank site but have been through both www.knfilters.co.uk and www.knfilters.com and can't find any HP reference??

Just looked again. knfilters.com ,69-8007TWR K&N Performance Air Intake. Claimed 34.32HP increase. Easy to find.

Claims a 34+ increase as Frenchie said .

Jeeez, that’s a claim!!

asperformance 09-03-2020 08:20 AM

thats their Induction kit, sorry thought you were meaning the drop in air filter...........

you do realise they are talking about "american horses" which probably equates to around 3bhp in the real world..........:-D

any changes on the newer cars requires at least a map check IMO to ensure they run correctly
