Dash idea
OK many of you know I sprayed the dash panels Black to blend in with the stereo. I recently bought some 3M Carbon effect vinal wrap which I have been playing with. What do you guys think (sorry about the pic quality)

I like it!:yeah:

looks like a good job putting the carbon film on there
what is behind the little grill at the bottom that you've covered over? inside temp sensor? |
Yeah there's a tube attached to the back that is used to sense the temp from the Cabin. I'm leaving it like that and waiting to see what happens, if the A/C goes all screwy I'll just disconnect the hose from the back and route it into the footwell.

Didn't realy like carbon replica but that's a top job and may have changed my views on it 10 out of 10 well done professional job
|
Really nice that, was thinking of doing the fuse cover under the bonnet as a test for bigger bits. Was the wrap from Fleabay?

Star Vinyls Really easy to use but try not to burn your fingers if you use a hot air gun! |
Just finished it off, bit of a pain in the ass though, the temp sensor was actually just behind the grille I'd covered, fortunately I had a spare one on my original dash panel so I've lengthened the wire and placed it under the steering column as the A/C was all over the place without the sensor exposed to the air. I couldn't get the film cut neatly enough around the grille so had to go for this approach.

Looks good but I hope it stays on,
I done similar on my last scoob, spent ages in the lounge with all the bits, doing it really neat with a hair dryer to stretch and stick smooth. Went in the car and after a few warm days it started to peel. :( |
Thats awsome Nick, given me the motivation to get some done myself :five:
