ASDA Charity Track Day on 6th August

Hi guys, it's this time of the year again. :) I was going to ask you if you would like to join us on the P1WOC again for the ASDA Charity Track Day. :)

The event will take place at RAF Bruntingthorpe again, which is only 45 minutes north of London, on 6th August 2016.
It's awesome fun and one of the best events of the year and all you petrol heads and your families will hugely enjoy this.
This show is NOT open to the public but invite only and last year we raised £53,000 for the chosen charity. Any ideas to raise some more money are more than welcome.

You can take your own car round the track for free as often as you want to, provided you take a passenger along who had paid £5 for donation at the gates (prices tbc)

Accomodation: We'll stay in the Hinckley Island Hotel in Leicester again. If you would like to book a room please send an e-mail to Jasmine Wilkinson t Hinckleyislandgroups@jurysinns.com or phone 01455 631122 and ask to speak to Jasmine.

Important: Please mention that you are booking your rooms for ASDA / On Your Marks.

The rates are as follows:

£57 for B&B single or double occ for a standard room
£67 for B&B family rooms 2 adult 2 children max
£100 for B&B incl dinner for 2 people in a standard room (only if you don't wish to have dinner in the Harvester closeby)

Credit card required to guarantee

!!!! Imporant: The info below is still to be confirmed and I only copied and pasted it from last year's thread. I'm pretty sure it will all be about the same this year but I'll update this first post as soon as I hear about any changes. http://www.p1oc.co.uk/core/images/smilies/smile.png

Entrance
is actually free for people who offer passenger laps. For everyone else entrance fee is £10 per car.http://www.p1oc.co.uk/core/images/smilies/smile.png One pass per car, no matter how many people are in it. Passes will be handed out in the hotel or at gate or at Shell garage (LE9 6QD) on Saturday morning. http://www.p1oc.co.uk/core/images/smilies/smile.png

Food & drinks are excellent and much cheaper than normal shows (no profit).

The pits are full up with every petrol heads dream cars.

Pay £5.00 and jump in any car you like for a fast lap. Lap includes a longggggggg straight and plenty of twisties. There are many gates so there are NO queues.

Lambo's, Ferrari's, All Skylines (up to 1000 bhp), AMG Mercs, TVR's, Corvette's, Evo's, Scoobies and many more.

Air Displays run for much of the day including wing walkers.

Fire Brigade display how they tackle a raging fire. Sirens and the full works putting out a blazing caravan.

You can drive 40 foot artics, hovercrafts and JCB type machines ALL £ 5.00 each.

We will have a template of the tickets so we can print off as many as you guys need. http://www.p1oc.co.uk/core/images/smilies/smile.png

No queues, ample parking and easy to get to.

(This is classed as a "Private Event". Due the insurance matters regarding rides in cars it can not be advertised to invite the general public)

Hi Kerstin

This is a fantastic event for those who have never been, loads to see and do plus some awesome cars to drool over or passenger ride around the track or even take your own.

Plenty to occupy the tiddlywinks also if you are thinking of taking the family.

Will try and make this, though not sure if in the blob as planning to have some paint done after the Ring trip, I'll confirm once the trips over :ok:

Kerstin 04-05-2016 04:29 PM

Hi Steve, nice one. :ok: :) Would be great if you joined us. Fingers crossed. xxx

Sorry, Off to the Lake District that weekend. If it were a bit further north I would swing by. But we want to crack on and get as far north as possible as early as possible.
Have a good one.

Hi Kerstin, please add me to the list many thanks. :drive:

Shame you're not closer, Scott. Maybe next year then. :) Wishing you a great time in the Lake District. It's such a lovely place. xxx

Accomodation

In case you guys are thinking of staying over night, as I wrote in the first post, we normally stay in the Hinckley Island Hotel for the weekend. I've sent Chris Buckler a pm to find out if there's a code for the room booking again. As soon as I know more, I'll let you guys know and we can start booking our rooms. https://www.jurysinns.com/hotels/hinckley-island http://www.p1woc.co.uk/forums/images.../001_smile.gif

Dinner

As the hotel has a star chef now, dinner would be very expensive. Last year a few of us had dinner in the Three Pot Harvester that is just 0.6 miles away from the hotel. I would suggest to do that this time, too. http://www.harvester.co.uk/restauran...ckley/ourmenus http://www.p1woc.co.uk/forums/images.../001_smile.gif

Changed info for room booking

Terry and Mad Paddy had some difficulties to book their rooms, guys. They phoned Jasmine but were put through to Central Reservations. There they were told that they haven't rooms for £57 for ASDA left. So they had to go for a Premium for £67. It's so annoying. I was messed about for quite some time, then got an e-mail from a lady, Nadine Munn Barron, who gave me the details that I put in post 18 and also confirmed my room for £57. Also she told me that there is a large allocation for rooms for ASDA. I sent her an e-mail today to put some light on the chaos and got an automated e-mail back, saying that she has left the hotel now???? However, now I got the following e-mail from Jasmine:

Hello Kerstin,

Apologies for the delay in responding, I have double checked the block and there are only premium rooms left for the second night, however first night there is plenty of standard rooms. As this is an allocation booking and individuals are booking themselves they need to book through our reservations team on 0870 4100 800 and quote the on your marks allocation.

Apologies for the inconvenience today,

Regards,
Jasmine

Bad news from Chris Buckler reg passenger laps http://www.p1woc.co.uk/forums/images...milies/sad.gif

This is what he just posted on Facebook:
"This year we do not have a gate as we have been struggling to get enough cars over the last couple of years. This is Asda's last year running the event and in future it will be run by the Walton's, who own Bruntingthorpe. You are all still welcome to come but will need the visitors pass and pay at the gate £10 per car.

Parking will be on the visitors area and not by the track as previously, as this area is reserved for track cars.

We've been doing this event for 12 years now and feel like having a rest and just enjoy the day. Big thanks to all who have helped us raise so much money over the years."

I know it's quite disappointing for whose of you who wanted to do the passenger laps. I do hope you will still be joining us as it still is a fantastic day out for the whole family. I'll get copy of the visitor pass and e-mail it to you later. However, if you decide not to come, please let me know, guys. Many thanks. http://www.p1woc.co.uk/forums/images...s/thumbup1.gif

Kerstin 18-06-2016 07:04 PM

Chris Buckler e-mailed me the file for the visitor passes, guys. So if you pm me your email address I'll send you the file so that you can print your pass out yourself. Cheers.:ok::)

Kerstin 27-06-2016 09:13 AM

I have promised a few of you guys to email you the passes today. Unfortunately I won't get my laptop back before Wednesday or Thursday now. :( As soon as I have it back I'll do all the things you've asked me for. No worries, nothing will get lost. :)

Kerstin 29-06-2016 05:34 PM

Phew, laptop is back, guys. :D Have emailed you the passes, Dave and Paul. :) xxx

Not long now, guys. :) For those of you who haven't been at Bruntingthorpe Airfield before, here's a little map: :)

Make sure your Sat Nav takes you to the Bath lane where, the green arrow is, via the yellow roads. Some Sat Navs might try to take you through Mere Rd Upper Bruntingthorpe! (hint stolen from Bigtel from last year :) )

If you lads need me to get anything else sorted before Saturday (getting the passes e-mailed, questions etc), may I ask you to let me know by Thursday if possible, because I will be off to the airport at 3 am on Friday morning and won't have internet before late afternoon / early evening on the Friday. Shame I didn't manage to meet you guys. :( However, I'm relieved you had a great day. It was a really fab event again and I only can echo you, Stu, hopefully it won't change too much, and hopefully we will have a gate again next year.:drive::drive:

I guess Clive has just asked at that gate if he can do a few laps. I only managed to chat to him shortly but didn't get hold of him in the afternoon again. He turned up totally unexpected. Actually he said he can't make it. However, I sent him a pass just in case and all of a sudden he was there. xxx
