Astra GSi 16v - Mint!!

Had the pleasure of detailing this barn find Astra GSi 16v that has been lovingly restored mechanically. I had the pleasure of working my DA on the body work and applying some sealant and wax etc

That looks great - Astra's of the 80's - 90's don't get the same press as the Escorts/golfs of the day but are just as significant.

A chap I used to play football with had one of those in the late '90s and it was riotous.

You've made that look beautiful. :ok:

Spotted this at Goodwood on Friday, apparently part of the Vauxhall Heritage collection.

Blimey u don't see many of them anymore, especially looking that clean.

As for the nova... :nono: developed a real hatred for these in my earlier years.

I still think back to my mark 1 astra with fond memories :)

I worked for a Vauxhall dealership for a few years in the 90s and drove pretty much all of them, several friends owned Mark2 GTE's and always thought they where great fun, digital dash and all :)

Lovely job Ryan, looks spot on!

Small update on this - the guy who owns the Astra asked me to try and clean up some plastic light guards and number plates off his Corsa he's rebuilding.

Came out ok I think...

One of these was my first sports car, the start of a long line of different GTE's

It went round corners as if it was on rails such a shame the floor started to rust out.

If only Id been able to keep it.

The mk1 is gorgeous. Like the gsi too, but it needs a set of fanblade wheels. What's the corsa he's rebuilding?

Rdlangy1 26-07-2016 03:45 PM

the corsa is a 1.6 Sxi :ok:

Aswell as the increase on the older classics, these 80's cars are shooting up in price fast at the moment. Huge increases of value asked for on the classic car insurances i'm doing for them.
