To get to 95 after the life he had shows just how much strength of character he had.

Sad day indeed. It was sad seeing him in ever declining health.

RIP Mr Mandela, but please do we have to have it on every news channel and radio channel for every waking moment.......

I end up never wanting to hear the name of the deceased person in question ever again. It shouldn't be like that but it's what our crazy media drive us too.......

Can you expand on what you mean?

Do you mean people killed because of the ANC movement and associated activity or acts he undertook to have people killed?

I do not profess to be expert on his history, but I haven't seen evidence of the latter from the little I do know, so would be very interested.

Even notwithstanding that though, the scale of change he achieved will never be seen again I don't think.

The way he approached forgiveness of previously warring factions and parties who had committed horrific acts against one another was completely unprecedented.

Even if there are skeletons in his closet, so to speak, his aims remained true from an early age, so it is wrong to say he was only a 'good man' in later life in my opinion.
