Track / Semi-Track Tyre options (for 17's)

OK Guy's what are my options on Track/Semi-track tyres to wrap around some 7.5" x 17's, looking for 215/40 x 17's or 215/45 x 17's

No-one seems to list a 225/40 and 235/40 are probably going to be too wide.

Tempted by Bridgestone RE070's but not found any yet, nor have I seen 888' advertised in the usual places (camskill, mytyres)

Federal 595 RS's look pretty good

Have a look here:

I'm 99% sure RE070's only came in 225/45/17, i had them on my wagon and loved them apart from the teamlining when worn

ad08's will be what I will be getting. got good reviews:grin:

Ado8's is what I'd order but have the rsr's and been happy with them for the £ they cost :)

RSR's do seem to have good reviews and a wide choice of sizes.

I will find out what there like on a real track a week Monday at snetterton but on a airfield day they were spot on :)

Just ordered a set of AD08R for my Evo.

I am sure Nankang do a tyre in that category... NS2R?

From what I've read and been told by a chap who has first hand experience they are very strong, but with a keen price.

Can't personally recommend them, but throw them into the mix.

I use ad08 on Scoob and love them. From tyreshopper I used 225/45/17

555_Si 15-06-2014 12:22 AM

Actually looks like sizes you mentioned are a little trickier

Scott.T 15-06-2014 08:07 AM

225/45 x 17 are too tall for a classic

Get the 888s..

I saw loads of them being used in Germany.

Looking at the available options there is only one choice for the 215/40 x 17 and thats the federal rsr.

888, ad08 and nangkang closest choice is 215/45 x 17 which apparently interfere with the arch liners.

And there I was thinking dropping down to 17's would open up a whole new world of choice !!!!!!!

Moley_WRX 18-06-2014 12:57 AM

I'm going to try the Federal RSR's, have heard great reviews on them
