New alternator on and carbon brace.
I will be removing the rad stays and battery clamp once source another clean oem set. http://i756.photobucket.com/albums/x...psiz86gwpn.jpg Removed the aftermarket double din as not my thing and fitted a Ra blank panel and oem stereo. Much happier as all lights up that shade of green. And fitted a jdm hazard switch. http://i756.photobucket.com/albums/x...ps7sev1ux3.jpg Still not touched the suspension as been to cold/wet and lazy.. |
A few updated pictures now the coilovers are on.
Need to raise the rear height slightly. New phone so decided to try the camera out. http://i756.photobucket.com/albums/x...psuqrrqxmn.jpg http://i756.photobucket.com/albums/x...ps04yyrmjy.jpg http://i756.photobucket.com/albums/x...psnugxyxcj.jpg http://i756.photobucket.com/albums/x...psa8muu9jm.jpg http://i756.photobucket.com/albums/x...psm6fyifru.jpg http://i756.photobucket.com/albums/x...psaypbgxmd.jpg http://i756.photobucket.com/albums/x...psa2onnswf.jpg |
So clean under that bonnet, love it. I'd never take it out in the rain now! :)
|
Shame the paint work isn't the same lol.
|
Forgot these two, pic whoring today.

That is ridiculously clean under the bonnet look brand new.
|
Added a couple more bits
CDF anti lift kit Super pro front bush Whiteline roll correction kit New drop links New control arm bolts , ball joint bolts. 20mm front arb. http://i756.photobucket.com/albums/x...ps58ftcevp.jpg I still need to fit super pro front Arb mounts, I'm hoping once set up it should turn in very nice. I do have my open for a quick rack to when one pops up. |
Picture of the Whiteline caster adjusted top mounts.

Coming along so nicely, some nice sensible modifications along the way too.
|
Slapped some super pro Arb bushes in,
The front is now up to date with all components renewed. I've started on the rear now so i will update once things start . https://i756.photobucket.com/albums/...pswmoj4pi3.jpg http://i756.photobucket.com/albums/x...pscty6chhj.jpg I managed to pick up a damage free sti intercooler with zero core damage just a little grubby so if any one has some tips on cleaning the core up? wondered if there is a foam or similar i could spray on then wash off?? http://i756.photobucket.com/albums/x...ps7m7c39jz.jpg |
Very impressed and loving the detail :worthy:
|
Just read threw your thread there mate and wow this car is stunning and so clean. Some nice work been done.
|
Good job there! And that's a rare find with the tmic, most are grubby with bent fins all over the place these days!
|
Cheers chaps.
The intercooler is great I'm very happy, I've just cleaned it up with some house hold cleaner and it's come up a treat. It's taken me 3-4 months to find one in this condition and tbf I had given up a little till I saw this. So now I need to source an sti undertray as already fitted the sti scoop and will allow a little more from the car at mapping. |
This build. :worthy:
I really can’t get over how clean that bay is. I’ve been looking around for a clean sti top mount but no luck so far. Willing to pay the money though :ok: |
Cheers. its coming along slowly but still a long way off.
The paint work on the car ISN'T great especially the front end so this will need addressing in the future but theres zero point why im messing around unbolting everthing, I gave the cooler a clean and heres how it came up so im happy, https://i756.photobucket.com/albums/...psmkjsbtj6.png Im currently working on the rear diff supports this week to help stiffen up the drivetrain as this is the last bit of the puzzle., The Group n diff brace is going in along with a Spec c T Bar support, Just to note the spec c rubber compound is stiff than that of the cheese made wrx versions, Along with Whiteline outrigger bush supports to increase the stiffness. All new Hardware for this of course. Im currently at a loss where to go next with handling... Im going to renew the lateral arm bushs, Subframe lock out bolts, but im not sure where else to go from here for extra grip? Do the H braces make an actual difference Rear strut braces????? i can see LSD's being one to look at next too. |
Great attention to detail :10:
|
Also forgot I had fitted a nice clean spec c T bar diff support with new end plates , bolts and super pro bushes .
The Sti group n diff support is in too. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...0fb0578a6f.jpg Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
Looking good Benji. When you changed the ball joints for the alloy arms did you have any problems getting the old ball joints out of the hub, still not done mine yet and heard some nightmare stories of the pinch bolt snapping and the ball joints being seized into the hub?
|
:worthy:
I like this a lot , as Ryan said the attention to detail is 10/10 ,very envious . |
Cheers guys nothing special really just a few easy bolt on bits.
Shane i had zero issue other than i was tit and wasnt paying 100% to it and slipped off one of the pinch bolts with the socket and chewed the head but i have a set of cool sockets things that deal with chewed heads that i put on and it came off easy, but i did soak them for around a week every other day in Wd40, i replaced the bolts as just habit every thing i undo on this car thats underneath all the fasteners get replaced and cooper slipped back in. |
That was my plan, start soaking them now and cross my fingers, the split pin, castle nut, ball joint and suspension arm have become one rusted item so just as well it's all coming off.

Great attention to detail, awesome job you're doing.
What's the info on the wing braces? Not seen them before, I assume they just add additional structural rigidity? |
Thanks , the braces just add extra strength to the inner wings. Subaru added a tin brace but these just add that extra bit. Few posts on the Nasioc from guys claiming better turn in feel. I’m still yet to drive the car so no comment from me.
Sti do a version also . I’ve been wanting a set of clean rad stays for a while as most rust out, finally have a set and removed the red tin ones I had fitted . Next is a clean oem recirc valve to get the bay back to oem. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...3effdcbb60.jpg Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

I did a quick video , never seem to find quiet system to compare always loud nur specs etc which doesn’t help if trying to reduce the DB. So here’s my poor go at it lol

I moved the oil catch can to the front of the bay in the old air con spot , made a bracket for it.
Reason for moving is going to retro fit a jdm intercooler spray bottle in its place (passenger inner wing), not like the uk cars booted mounted. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...5237025939.jpg https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...0dc4ba401e.jpg Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
Smart job
|
Looks very neat. I thought it was only the classics that had the water bottle in the engine bay, my brothers jdm bug sti had the bottle in the boot.

Odd Shane as the spray tank I have was removed from a 02 jdm bug , I have all the fittings ,hardware to fit mine so looks factory fitted just requires some wiring.

cant recall age but think from MY03> most of the JDM Spec-C's had the large boot mounted tank across the back seats
