I think it's kinda cool.
You can only buy one when you by a 'Real' Aston. For running around during the week or for the wife. Save the 'Real' Aston for the weekend.

But really its a way of getting the % carbon footprint per sales down.
IIRC it's a toyota underneath.

Alfas have got it soooo right with their styling! no bias there at all!
