STI clutch

Hi all
Finally got v5 for car so now back in a Subaru, it’s clutch is really high and very heavy so considering replacing. Any suggestions? Should I be doing the fly wheel as well?
Many thanks

Hi, I'd give Alyn a ring at AS Performance, he sorted a clutch/ flywheel for me for the wagon, top advice, very competitive pricing and excellent delivery service as always.

steer clear of RTS imo, the product is pretty good but it's a nightmare if there is an issue like i had, was without a car for almost 2 weeks because they f*cked up

As Steve says - speak to alyn at AS Performance...

Exedy clutch and flywheel won’t be too bad price wise if standard power car, pink box if modded (or plan to up power) and I recommend Competition Clutch Stage 3 Clutch if you are thinking of going 400+ bhp :ok:

But Alyn will advise accordingly :ok:

the ring that clamps onto the release bearing failed(the clutch was at most 1k used), so when i contacted them they passed the buck and i ended up having to pay for another kit(at a reduced price though) and they sent me a kit out of a KNOWN bad batch(their words) and then sent me another 1 out about 4 days after. then i had to pay labour for it to be fitted again as i didnt have time to keep doing it. ended up costing me an extra 400-500ish

yeh, as i say the product is good, when you eventually get a one thats not broken.

i'm running 380bhp and it never slips, i think it's the stage 2 clutch i got with a lightened flywheel(only weighs 5kg)

I have an uprated ACT clutch in mine with a lightened flywheel, very grippy, towed a 1750kg van without issue. Lightened flywheel takes a bit of getting used to, and is a little bit on the heavy side in traffic. Hope to get under 13 secs on the quarter mile this year.:-D
