it could be plugs but if a pre96 model it is more likely coil packs

My WRX miss fired. Took the coil packs out and saw hair line cracks where the spark jumps and causes a miss fire. The plastic degrades and deteriorates from getting hot cold hot cold. If you change them you may as well do the plugs while your at it.
