Very nice and have to admire the dedication and comitment to the project... But you can get say a 2002 996 turbo for 30K at the moment. 450bhp out of the box, and tunable to a very useable 550bhp.

I was so tempted to push for one when I bought the M3, sometimes wish I had, sometimes glad I didn't. The only things that ultimtely put me off in the end was servicing costs, which were proper

But I bet if you weighed up how much you have spent in the past each year tinkering on the Scoob for example the cost to service a 996 turbo isn't that silly. I would guess about 1K a year for a good service on a 996 turbo, and a very good warranty say another 1K per annum.

So 2K a year, plus normally running costs to own a serious piece of iconic machinery thats probably fast getting to the point is depreciation proof. So in real terms its probably cheaper or the same to run per annum than going out and buying say a new passat or equivelant..

Its all relative.... And have seen these chanigng hands for at little as 26K recently.

Mmm my mortgage is due for renewal in March..... But no doubt I'll end up 'putting me sensible head on'.

Wouldn't drive a Porsche if you gave me one, would much rather spend my money on a Scoob, much better looking car in my opinion

Love me scoobs as well, there must be something right about them having had about 5 of them now. But they are very different cars and a different proposition, but they are by far the best rounded value performance buy money can buy.

Dont think money is an issue for him mate, he brought it brand new to start with then spent 35k at RCM. True Scooby enthusiast me thinks 8-)
