Low flying fighter jet
Every month or so here in Normandie we have a couple of Mirage(I think) fighter jets chasing each other. This morning they flew right over the house whilst I was in the garden, really low, could clearly see all the markings. Quite impressive.

I remember growing up as a kid seeing similar things in mid-Sussex - late 80s, early 90s i guess. Never these days though.
Although there must be a military flight path between two bases (or something) near me, we regularly get Chinooks passing east-west just to the south of Burgess Hill in the evenings - normally just after dark. I live on the very southern side of town so hear and see them clearly. Very low, probably 300-500 feet as they don't pass over houses... |
I had these flying over me last week as they tried to control the wild fires in the surrounding hills to where we were staying.

I spent a day at the Mach Loop in Wales last year before doing a stage of Rally GB, hoping to see some of this... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6zhAekECH78 ...but instead I just saw a lot of rain and clouds: view was nice though! |
