Lucky 14-11-2014 09:11 AM

Expected end of 2015 and around £40k. Very nice

ScoobyStu 14-11-2014 10:32 PM

About time they got with it and produced something like this. Look forward to seeing it.

For sale: 2003 golf r32....... Lol

Lucky 15-11-2014 12:54 PM

This could be a real game changer. 412 BHP, Reported 0-60 is 3.9 with a top end of 174 mph. All for around 40k. Having driven the 300bhp R recently I would imagine the 400 must be awesome.

jmcc42uk 16-11-2014 10:50 PM

Can't deny it's going to be rapid but how will it handle?

asperformance 17-11-2014 08:26 AM

hardly a game changer IMO, 22b, FQ400, CS400, GTR's, etc. have all been in that ball park.......

Lucky 17-11-2014 08:33 AM

Game changer in that it will be half affordable to buy and run, have reliability and probably be comfortable as a family car. I drove the 300 bhp R recently and to be fair it did lack the 'feel' and character of the scoob but you could have been driving a standard golf while pootling about until you floor it and then it was a different car altogether.

Anger 17-11-2014 09:36 AM

I see the new Honda Civic Type R is 40k plus aswell

nikkinokkinoo 17-11-2014 12:53 PM

Golf sounds like a good car, that Civic looks a nice bit of kit. Bet it will put in a good ring lap time.

What do you mean steve a scooby is not cheap to run lol,im still on the same tank of fuel that you left in it.

So have you placed an order for the golf yet or something else or waiting for this 400 bhp+ one to come out???

Hongkongfooi 17-11-2014 06:20 PM

The latet golf R came high up in the evo mag car of the year so this hotter version should be tasty8-)

It's very dull looking though. Ok if you're after a street sleeper.

scooby doo 17-11-2014 07:36 PM

Boring!
Could of bought Cosworth sti or fq400 years ago lol

jmcc42uk 21-11-2014 05:24 PM

Remember the Alfa 147 with the 3.8 V6? Something like that anyway. It was the one Hammond got hypnotized in with Paul Mckenna.

When they tested it on the track it was a disaster - too much power

I'm being picky but it was 3.2. You are right too much power through the front wheels

jmcc42uk 21-11-2014 11:32 PM

That's the one!

Actually I have to correct us both, it was a 3.7 Autodelta one.

They bored out the 3.2 to get the extra bhp (almost 330).

Although it was completely useless at pretty much everything, the sound....oh dear GOD the sound was immense!

Lucky 22-11-2014 09:26 AM

Jon, changing the subject completely, I've just realised you were the chap that tinted the windows on my Mrs's Black Galaxy. And a good job it was too!

jmcc42uk 24-11-2014 11:54 AM

Ah, thank you. I try to offer a high quality professional service. Glad you are pleased with it.

A forty grand Golf - #facepalm

jmcc42uk 26-11-2014 07:22 PM

If I had 40 grand it would be an Honda NSX, without doubt.
