We have stayed there, load's of Taverna's, nice beach, costal walks, tourist road train takes you up into the hills, there's the island of Spinalonga ( was a leprosy colony) and if you go up into the local villages some cracking restaurants for an evening meal although very popular so booking advised.

We are in Chania which is a lovely place been gokarting today kids loved it as they dont care out here and put there karts on full power so they was fly around. Wethers pretty nice 24 to 27 degrees.
