Maf/less

Iv finally lost the will to live with the knock and maf cel lights and after replacing the Maf twice (new genuine items )and checking and cleaning knock sensor..its appeared again and is over fueling like a *******..have been told by loads that its the induction kit allowing to much crap through?.

The mafs only last a month or two, and the the little wire in Maf is covered again..so i have booked it in to have an alcatek fitted and run mafless, apparently this is the safer way of running these engines if running modified like mine is.

Iv choosen alcatek as it has everything that i (think) ill need and a reasonable price for now and the future.. i wont ever be looking at huge power, but eventually i have a cdb which id like to get to 2.1 and around the equal 400s..maybe a tadge more.:drive:

and a plus id actually like to get it on the rollers and see what its putting out as it is.
Im interested in how many people actually run like this.. benefits and downsides if there is any.:ok:

Will be going mafless on my newage lump going into rb5 with a syvecs in next few months. Still got lots of bits to get before I fit it, as want to do sump and fuel rails while at it.

Iv read alot about syvecs.. aparently this is the way forward on big power cars is it not??.. couldnt justify the cost for mine to be honest...and reading about alcatek this would allow me to run two maps and would support avcs if i ever chose to go that route aswell...

Ran mafless on my type-r's with no problems at all...
Only thing is idle can hunt a bit due to not having the maff as mapped base only but that was it
