Cold Air Feed.....finally got round to it.

Bought myself a couple of £20 STi Style fog light covers, put a 70mm hole through them and mounted an ally trumpet.
initially I left the trumpet un-painted but didn't like the gap between it and the fog cover due to the cover being curved.
so decided to blend them in and colour code the whole thing:

Removed the standard resonator box from within the wing and mounted a an ally hard pipe inside the wing, then angled to direct cold air at the Apexi Power intake :

initally only fitted the trumpet to the drivers side, but decided it look a bit strange/wonky, so fitted one on the passenger side, although flexi-pipe is a fake and has no connection inside the wing :

Scott

That is neat.

I did a similar thing to my Newage, but was never happy about the gap between cover and trumpet and never got round to painting it. The only things I did different to you were use a flexi pipe and put some mesh behind the trumpet. I was never really happy with the look...

Not impressed with ETS as had a pair of blank covers from them to start with.
They were too big and I had to trim/sand loads off to get to fit. So much had to come of that it was almost down to just the front face with no profile extending into the cavity.
Even then the fit was very tight and not as per OE items.

I ended up cocking up the painting so they went in the bin and I got another set from the same place as scoobywez for £20. A much better fit and much closer to the OE size.

Thanks all for the comments but not sure if the covers will stay, as it looks a bit cross-eyed due to the covers and hence trumpets being at a slight angle (a bit like the Morgan Aero 8).
Cold air feed can pick up air from behind the black bumper grill as these don't do anything other then blow air into the wheel arch liner.
The brake cooling is fed from the slot in the bumper below that via a short piece of duct.

Nice workmanship, but all a bit fussy for me at the front end now. And prefer the look with plain covers, so would be good to pick a cold feed from elsewhere if you can. Just my 2p worth.! But as with any mod 'beauty is in the eye of the beholder'.
