Thanks to Stuart (and his dad :)) for saving my scoobe today...

Investigated a low pressure issue on idle (very low!) and replaced my oil pump, effectively saving my engine :)

Really nice bloke, great to talk to and really helpful.

Thanks Stuart!

J.

Thanks!

Yet another thanks to Stuart for replacing my near completely broken oil pickup on the Hawk - a £70 oil pressure gauge was the best investment I ever made!

http://www.flickr.com/photos/80414472@N07/8723286388/

Was 5mm away from completely shearing off - the only symptom was a low oil pressure at idle after car was warmed up.

A very lucky escape!

blimey, how the hell can that happen on a reasonably new car? has the sump ever been off before?

lupuss 09-05-2013 02:29 PM

No sump has never been off before - seems that it's a bit of an issue fairly particular to the EJ25 engine. There's a massive thread on NASOIC about it labelled something like 'Who'se Oil Pickup HASNT failed?'... which says a lot...

Stuart said the replacement part was different to the original, so perhaps Subaru have 'dealt' with the issue... Was also the first one his local Subaru dealer had ever ordered apparently...

Only installed the oil pressure gauge at Christmas - thank god I did!

Just had some work done by Stuart and John. Very happy with the service I received. Price was spot on too. Thanks chaps!

impreza27 29-10-2014 01:44 PM

What work did you have done Mike?

Mike j 02-11-2014 09:24 AM

New clutch, fuel pump, pink injectors and japspeed exhaust. Going to see JGM on Wednesday....
Then hopefully get some track time in.

Slider 02-11-2014 05:30 PM

I travelled from Worthing to have stuart do some exhaust work a little while ago. Couldn't fault the service. Highly recommended.

ajelliott 04-08-2015 01:47 PM

Cant fault their service. Popped out there today for advice and a look at miy running issue and gave me some ideas for my poor perfromance and issues

adamcain 13-10-2015 07:30 PM

munk 14-10-2015 05:24 AM

Another recommendation from me. Welding was outsourced but a fantastic job. Got some new brakes off a friend of Stu, which he duly fitted and bled up. My wheels then wouldnt fit over said new brakes, so Stu put some temporaries on until i managed to find a set that would go over. Took me ages to find some, but got them delivered to Stu, and again,he duly fitted them to the car. I wont be taking my car anywhere else in future.
Cheers
Dave
