oil pressure

anyone with a classic running 10W-50 and a oil pressure gauge, what oil pressures are you getting?

i've just done my oil change and fitted the oil pressure sensor so my newly fitted oil gauge works.
once warmed up I seem to be getting 2.8bar on idle, and off the gauge once I go over 2000rpm (gauge only goes up to 7 bar)

I have a bugeye and that seems about right.

Mines 3bar on tick over 9bar on throttle

cheers, wasnt sure if i was getting correct readings or if the gauge/sender was faulty but given the feedback, I think it seems about right

you must have a better oil pump .

it wont just be oil pump, but yes that effects it obviously but oil pressure will be influenced by many aspects.. bearing condition and clearances, avcs heads and pump size.. there are 10mm, 11mm and 12mm pumps.

My 6cylinder has 2bar idle and 4bar on throttle (fairly normal for an EG33).. its got more bearings to run the oil round so more have leaked out and lost the pressure :)
